That was that. Enough was enough. The time had come. Raven was going to get her powers back from Damian.
Raven had laid in bed stroking her own stomach, wondering how things would go in the future. Would the baby be able to take the powers Raven had given away only to receive them again? Would the baby want anything to do with Raven's powers if it inherited them? Would everything be ok?
"You're a sensitive thinker." Raven heard Damian say as she looked up at him.
His arms were leaning on the bed. His face coming closer to hers. The expression of stoicism replaced with a thoughtful smile.
"That's not something I like about myself." Raven said with a slightly down expression.
"I like it about you."
"You shouldn't."
"But I do. I love everything about you."
"You're cheesy."
"And you love it."
"I do. I really do." Raven whispered as she and Damian slowly closed the gap between them. Their kiss telling each other that everything would be ok. They would make it ok.
"I've been wondering something..."
"What?" Raven asked.
"Will I look like how I used to?"
"You mean with your suit and your eye?"
"Yes."
Raven looked into Damian's eyes. Green and purple. The sign that he had a part of her in him. The one thing she would never take back after giving him her powers.
"Your suit is up to you. It's a suit after all. As for the eye, no. That will stay like that... forever." Raven confessed.
Damian smiled and closed his eyes. He sighed in relief. Damian had always treasured the things that Raven had given him and he was extremely thankful. He would never let go of them and he would continue to treasure them for as long as he lived.
"Good. I don't wanna lose this." Damian said as he reached up to his eye.
Raven smiled before returning to her slightly down expression. Her fears wouldn't go away and she at least needed to quieten them before they got the better of her.
"What's wrong?" Damian asked as he took her face in his hand.
Raven leaned into the touch and held her hand over his. She looked at him and could feel a single tear release from her eye.
"I'm worried. I don't know how things are gonna go. I wanna know if our baby will be ok, if things will go well and..." Raven was cut off by Damian's lips on hers yet again.
Damian backed away enough to look her in the eyes.
"If we say we'll be ok, we will. Our baby is tough. We have nothing to worry about. We'll be ok." Damian said confidently.
"How do you know?"
"I have faith." Damian simply answered.
Raven smiled and slowly wrapped her arms around her future husband. She felt safe and secure when she was with him and, as his arms circled around her, she felt the weight of the world lift off her shoulders.
"I love you." Raven said, contempt.
"I love you too. We'll be ok." Damian assured her.
Sorry I haven't updated for a while. My weeks have become very busy and I'm usually very tired by the time I get round to this stuff.
Would've updated last night, but I was pretty drunk and it wouldn't have lasted long 😂
I also sorted out my purchase of the iPhone 14 pro which I'll have soon and that's been keeping me busy too.
Hope you enjoy.
