The roof was blown open. Debris falling everywhere, no part of the building was safe.
Raven covered Damian under her arms and conjured a shield above their heads. Sharp pieces of glass littered the floor. Along with them, equally sharp and large fragments of wood from the walls.
Raven's hearing was suffering, the explosions loud bang making her ears ring. Her eyes and her nose were obstructed by the dust falling from the ceiling. The dust moving away as she coughed out whatever was in her throat.
As Raven cleared her throat she looked down to Damian. He had not moved an inch, worrying Raven greatly. Having cleared her eyes as well, she knelt down to him and found that he had been impaled through his abdomen.
Horror and fear flooded Raven's head. Knowing she was in no state to heal Damian, she did her best to remove any debris surrounding his body and gather him up in her arms.
"Ow." Damian said as he was pulled out.
"Ow? That's it? Ow? You've been stabbed!" Raven yelled. Her fear now getting worse as she looked at the glass that was sticking out of her boyfriend's stomach.
"Not the worst thing I've had. Are you ok?" Damian asked as he settled in her arms.
"I'm good, but I'm worried about you! Damian I can't heal you right now, I need to know what to do." Raven worriedly said.
"Take this." Damian said as he pulled some sort of device from his belt. "You're going to need to pull the glass out and cauterise the wound to stop the bleeding." Damian instructed.
"I... u-uh... ok, just tell me how to do it ok?" Raven said. Her eyes wide and her hands trembling.
Damian noticed her shaking hands and grabbed the one she had at his torso, guiding it down to the shard of glass. "Ready?" Damian asked as he prepared Raven to pull out the five inch long and three inch wide piece of glass out.
"No. What if it doesn't work? What if I make it worse? I don't want to lose you." Raven tearfully confessed.
Damian moved his hand to her face and lovingly placed it against her face. Reassuring her with a confident smile.
"You can do it. I know you can. I'll do it with you." Damian told Raven.
Raven simply nodded and pulled the glass out after Damian's three second countdown. She wasn't particularly squeamish when it came to things like that, but it was different when it was Damian. The blood and wound she could handle, it was simply seeing the man she loved in pain and in danger of dying.
"Ooooowwwww!!" Damian yelled out.
Raven winced away in shock and quickly hugged the man in her arms tightly. She was tearing up again and did her best to stop them and stay strong.
"Are you ok?!" She fearfully asked.
"It's ok. Now you just have to point that at the wound and turn it on. Just go down the length of it a few times." Damian groaned out.
Raven silently complied before hearing another hellish scream out of Damian from the pain. Raven couldn't help but engulf him in her arms yet again. She was so worried, but the fact they had done what they needed to do brought comfort to her; Damian was no longer in danger of dying.
"We need to get out of here." Damian painfully muttered.
Raven nodded in agreement and pulled Damian up with his arm draped over her shoulder for support.
As they walked out they noticed that the assassin was gone and that it was an escape that caused all the damage. The assassins escape. No doubt gone to report to the League.
Damian and Raven found their way out and dropped to the ground in pain and relief. They were met up with Batman, Nightwing, Kori, Donna and Jon. All of whom helped the couple get to hospital beds and sent to the infirmary at the Tower. A new prison was definitely needed.
Upon waking up from a long sleep after passing out, Raven made her way to Damian's bed and began to heal him. Her strength was still not one hundred percent, but she managed to get rid of anything serious.
"I love you. Even if you scare me like that, and are a fucking idiot sometimes." Raven laughed out before kissing the sleeping Damian's forehead and climbing into his bed with her arms wrapped around him.
"I love you too. Fucking worry wart." Damian whispered once she fell asleep, a smile visible on his face.
As Dick peered into the room, he was soon joined by Kori, Donna and Jon. All intrigued to see how Damian was doing.
"They can't keep away from each other huh?" Dick whispered.
