"It's just the fact it's a big skeleton." Daphne shuddered, describing the horse as we exited, walking up to the gates.
"Well, they're harmless I assure you."
"Yes, they just have a sad meaning is all." Pansy mumbled, looking behind us back at the horses.
"It's alright." I put a hand around her and Daphne, I was in between them. "It's a new day, a new school year, and the Dark Lord is gone." I whispered.
"Oh Y/n, don't say his name so freely like that." Daphne shivered against the cold.
"He is a harmless creature, and is gone for good, thanks to the likes of Harry Potter." Pansy comforted Daphne.
Harry Potter and his friends were not back to redo their dark year. And, with good reason. They didn't need to do an extra year, others like us did.
I huffed and could see my warm breath dance away and disappear into the cold wind. I crossed my arms and made my way finally, into the Great Hall, sitting down in a random seat towards the middle.
We were not segregated this year. But friends sat together of course.
"Good evening." McGonagall greeted warmly with a smile.
The candles were lit, it was warm, and cosy and I absolutely loved it.
I had to suppress my giggle. I was so happy to be here again.
"Of course, the Forbidden Forest is not allowed for venture.." She continued on. I looked at her expectantly, awaiting for the food to finally appear in front of me.
"And with that.." She smiled widely, my smile grew with hers. "Help yourselves to dinner."
And it finally all appeared. I didn't know where to start. Pansy nudged Daphne and they laughed at me as loud chatter started all around us.
It was pure bliss.
After I had eaten and had chats with my two friends, we realised we were only but a few left, still chatting.
"And now we have to rush to Hogsmeade this weekend." Daphne giggled shyly.
"Because you accidentally set your book a light?" Pansy had asked, confirming for the 5th time. I laughed.
"We?" I asked.
"Yes!" Daphne urged, grinning.
"Must we do everything with you?" Pansy chuckled, getting up with Daphne and I.
"Yes! It's always much fun." Daphne urged again. I nodded.
"Of course, we will come." I eyed Pansy playfully and she shook her head, chuckling.
My two friends went ahead of me I stacked my plates, attempting for it to be neat, and walked a bit far from my friends behind them as I swung my bag over my shoulder.
As I left the doors of the Great Hall I groaned as I felt some things fall out.
Great.
Did I always have to be this careless?
I shoved my papers and quills that had fallen out and realised I was missing my ink. It must've rolled away somewhere.
I saw two people walk past me as I looked around on the floor for it, scanning my eyes.
A third person had stopped in-front of me, I trailed my eyes up from his feet to his face, and he held out the ink I was desperately looking for.
I huffed, my face was hot from the warmth of the room but my hands I felt were still cold.
I stood up and reached out for it hesitantly, I looked up at him.
"Thank you Malfoy, again." I waited for an answer.
"Of course," He paused, handing it out further. He wasn't going to plop it down on my palm I realised, and I went to take it out from his fingers, brushing against his cold slender ones.
I guess my fingers were colder than I thought as he pocketed his hands in his pockets, shivering ever so slightly.
"Will this be an occurrence?" He smiled slightly.
"I do not know what you mean." I smiled, clutching the ink in my hand. I quickly picked up my bag and turned around, side stepping Nott and Zabini who I realised were behind me, making my way out.
I heard light chatter behind me, but it drowned out from Pansy's voice, who was waiting with Daphne just outside the doors.
"Hmmm." Daphne smiled, eyeing Malfoy who was a few metres behind where I had left him.
Pansy wiggled her eyebrows. I pushed them both slightly, scoffing.
"You guys don't know what you're talking about."
"Hey, we didn't even say anything Y/n." Pansy smiled, putting her arm around me, and Daphne followed, putting her arm around me also.
Something was brewing inside their minds.
