It was the evening of the ball.

Here I was. My friends entered before me and I entered after them, the hall was completely packed.

I looked around, light blue balloons floated everywhere, it sort of had a nice winter theme.

Even though the balloons were a light blue, they were a much darker blue at the bottom.

I went over to our designated table with the white table cloth, following behind my friends.

I let my eyes wonder though, to Y/n from across the room.

She was laughing with her friends every so often, her hand banging on the table lightly. I wish I knew what was causing her to laugh so beautifully.

Her yellow gown stood out, complementing her. It was like the spring, or the summer.

Her eyes never found mine, and I moved my gaze elsewhere before they did.

"Staring is rude you know?" Theo teased, elbowing me.

Before I could roll my eyes at Theo, Blaise joined in. "Liking what you're seeing?"

If he was referring to Y/n, yes, very much.

Ever since I properly laid my eyes on her on the train, the thought of her had never left me, and never will, even if she doesn't seem to feel the same towards me.

"Again, I don't think we are looking at the same thing." I replied.

"No.. I know you only have eyes for Y/n now and not a random 5th year." He chuckled, looking towards the front as McGonagall started speaking her usual greetings. I shook my head at Blaise with a light smile.

Finally, the food appeared, and I enjoyed my time at my table talking to my friends and eating comfortably, enjoying the nice atmosphere of a peaceful night.

I had only gone onto the dance floor once when it was really crowded, to dance with Theo and Blaise in a silly manner like we always did, and it was fun.

We were now standing to the side, talking about the little things, when McGonagall made an announcement.

"One mandatory final dance, everybody, line up!" She spoke happily clapping, and I thought for a moment about sneaking out, and I decided to leave.

But I was stopped with a hand on my shoulder. "Where are you going?" Theo asked.

"To our room, quickly let's go." I urged but they didn't budge.

"Come on, McGonagall is watching us like a hawk, if she doesn't notice your platinum hair in the crowd then you're screwed." Blaise looked at my head and I moved my lips to the side. I decided I'd stay for a bit and I walked to line up.

I knew I wasn't brave, and I never was brave at all.

But if I was going to dance, I'd pick someone I was familiar with, so before anyone took her, I asked her instead.

"Y/n." She turned around, looking up at me. Her hair always framed her face nicely.

"Oh, yes Draco?" She asked, tucking her hair behind her ear. She beamed, her eyes shining even though the lights were dim.

I'm glad she wasn't disappointed in seeing me.

"I'd love it if," I paused for a brief second. "If you could be my partner and dance with me." I took a deep breath, trying to hide my nervousness as I waited expectantly for her answer.

She smiled and looked down. I noticed she looked at my hand that was nervously in my pocket.

A bit hurriedly, I took it out immediately for her, and she took it, guiding me to the middle of the crowd.

She was everything.
