"Y/n-" Pansy tried starting but I stopped her, my hands out in front of me gripping my wand.
"-no, now is not the time. There's death eaters in the school-"
"Oh is there?" Someone had interrupted from behind the corner. We all turned as they emerged from the shadows, and it was Diggory, wearing usual death eater attire, minus the mask.
"Yuck." I heard Zabini mutter. We all stood beside each other, our wands out.
Draco was about to fire a spell, but Diggory's words had stopped us.
"Oh no, I wouldn't do that if I were you Malfoy." He laughed, as he crossed his arms.
With Draco's hand back in mind, he pulled me slightly behind him.
"Y/n, didn't notice you there behind the big and tall Malfoy.." he paused.
"Just turn yourself in, there's still time before you go down the dark path and get sent to Azkaban." I answered, swallowing my fear.
He laughed again, and ignored me. "I wanted to thank you and Malfoy for making that potion."
"What? Potion?" I tried jogging my memory.
"Oh, I couldn't be bothered remembering the name anyways.. Max-something.." he smiled, and I saw Draco's anger expand.
"You stole it?" He asked him.
"No Malfoy, I didn't steal it," He almost looked offended, but I knew it came with a certain fake tone. "I borrowed it, and would you like to know what I did with it?" He asked, looking to each one of us.
We never answered.
"Wouldn't it be funny if I said they are in the balloons in that of the ballroom? All they need is a pop." He almost giggled.
My eyebrows furrowed and I became nervous.
Draco had launched a spell at him and had gotten him, but he soon recovered. His friends, Nott and Zabini soon joined in, and quickly captured him in ropes.
I saw Draco grab his collar. "I can kill you, I swear." Violently, he shook him, slamming him against the wall.
"I believe you Malfoy, your father told me all about it." He looked up, blood sliding from the side of his head, with a small smile etched upon his face.
Zabini had kicked him in the chest, causing Diggory to groan.
"Shut up, you." Nott whispered furiously down at Diggory.
"We have to evacuate everyone from the ball.." I told Pansy and Daphne and they nodded.
I was on my way to walk to the doors first, when I heard footsteps rushing towards me and holding me back.
"Draco, what are you doing?"
"Don't go in there, the balloons will pop any second, and I don't want you to have any more pain than you have gone through, it's not worth it."
"And having others go through the pain is fine?" I asked. He still held onto my forearm.
"Let me go." I whispered.
"I can't." He replied, and I accepted it.
"What even is the potion we brewed?" I continued, our friends looking on.
Draco wouldn't tell me, but I could sense he was about to, until Diggory interrupted with a cough.
"Can you stop?" I asked him.
"When has the word 'stop' ever meant anything to him?" Daphne asked. I sighed.
"The potion inflicts random pain on the people it touches.. and the balloons pop in.." he counted silently, and we had suddenly jumped from the screams and shrieks we had heard from the ball.
I jumped, a sense of sadness, anger, and worry overcame me as I grabbed the front of Draco's jacket, burying my head into his chest to drown out the sounds of my poor schoolmates.
