It was like white noise, I only heard white noise after McGonagall's announcement.

Upset, and having lost my appetite for dinner, I got up and was leaving, not before catching the eyes of Diggory who seemed to be way too calm, or in his own world.

Quickly, I looked away before he looked at me and trudged out to my room.

If death eaters were back and rounding us up for revenge I had to stay hidden. I would never let them take me to carry out their revenge.

"This is completely ridiculous." Pansy seethed through her teeth as we sat down in our dorm.

"At least our fathers aren't here anymore to force us into it." Daphne as she always was, trying to make light of the situation at hand.

"I guess so," I muttered to them, turning away to look out the window, my arms crossed.

I know, Malfoy is the quiet or shy type, but could he not have given me a heads up?

There was no time to finger point and blame, anyways.

This time I could be my own person, be on the side I truly wanted to be. As a Slytherin I needed to stay low right now. I wouldn't let them take me.

Suddenly, owls that I thought I would never see again dropped into our rooms with 3 letters, and flew out sharply.

I narrowed my eyes at the one with my name on it and hesitantly ripping it open. My friends waited for what mine would say before they opened theirs.

My daughter..

Tears prickled my eyes and I couldn't help but kick my dresser that was next to me in anger.

"No way in hell am I going." I muttered, throwing the paper that had partially been crumpled onto my bed.

I already knew what he wanted without looking at it.

"What does it say?" Daphne asked hesitantly, almost whispering. She held her unopened letter.

"I only read two words to know that my father has escaped from Azkaban." I was bitter.

Pansy quickly opened her letter, and read the contents quickly, her eyes skimming over from left to right.

"I hate this life." She ripped the letter into pieces and threw it out the window.

Daphne hesitantly opened hers and her eyes glassed over. She crumpled the paper and threw it out the window like Pansy had done.

I hadn't read the letter yet, and decided to get it over with.

My daughter,

You know what I will ask of you, and you will do it, because you are a good daughter, and part of an esteemed family.

Pack your bags, and take the train home tonight. If I don't see you by 9pm I assume you have betrayed me and this family.

Regards, your father.

I crumpled the letter, lighting it on fire with the tip of my wand and throwing it out the window.

What family? We had no family. He ruined this family.

Before either of us could discuss, I went to look down the stairs into the Slytherin common room. Students of all years in Slytherin, were filled in the common room, pacing, crying, ranting, or were non verbal, as they all read the contents of their letter.

The same thing was all expected of us.
