chapter 18: lil nuggets

Steve ~
It's the day. I get out of the bed and put my suit on. I feel Eddie's hand touch my shoulder. "Are you alright love?" He softly asks. "Not really." I respond. He grabs his suit and goes into the bathroom. "Hey honey." My mom walks into the room. "Hey." I reply. "Here let me help you with that." She walks over and helps me with my tie. "There." She says while sniffling. "You look just like him." She says while I pull her into a hug. "It's okay mom." I gently reply. Eddie walks out of the bathroom, with his hair put in a bun.

"You both look so handsome." My mom says. We walk downstairs and look at my mom. "Are we ready?" I ask. My mom nods and Eddie grabs the car keys. We get in the car and Eddie starts driving. We sit in silence until Eddie pulls into the parking lot of the church. We walk in and my mom sits down. Me and Eddie walk around and shake people's hands. Once the service starts, my mom starts crying. I wrap my arm around her and cry a little too. After the service, everyone gives their condolences and we get in the car.

"Mom are you okay?" I ask. "Yeah. I think so." She replies. "Mom, why don't you have a spa day? I know today's been really rough for you. I think it would help you." I say. "Are you sure?" She asks. "Yes! I have Eddie. I'm okay. We can drop you off at the house so you can get your car okay?" I answer. She nods and we drive back to my house. We drop her off and wave as we start driving past her. "Where are we going?" Eddie asked. "I don't know. Can we just drive around?" I ask.

"Of course." He answered. We drove through hawkins and all the way back to my house. We walked in and sat on the couch. "You hungry?" Eddie asked. "Yeah I could eat." I respond. He walks over to the phone and orders a pizza. While he's on the phone, I walk upstairs and change into some sweatpants and a t-shirt. I walk back downstairs and see Eddie looking through the movies. "Oh! You have back to the future! The best movie ever!" I laugh and sit down on the couch. I hear a knock at the door. "That was fast." Eddie says, walking to the door. He opens it and takes the pizza.

"Hey, Steve do you have any cash?" He asks. "Um, yeah here." I hand it to Eddie and look at the delivery man. His eyes looked like Max's when Vecna got her. I stopped Eddie from handing him the cash and pulled him away. "Do you see his eyes?" I asked. "Wait, why are they like that?" Eddie asked. "Remember when Max was distracting Vecna? Her eyes were like that too." I rubbed my eyes and his eyes were fine?

They were brown. Eddie looked at me and basically threw the money at him and took the pizza. I slammed the door and we ran to the couch. "What was that?" Eddie asked, frantically. "I-i don't know. We killed Vecna." I responded. "What if we didn't." Eddie replied. "No. We killed him. We were probably just hallucinating. It's been a long day. We're tired." I said.

Eddie ~
"Yeah you're probably right. We've had a long day." I reply while grabbing a slice of pizza. Steve walks over to the vhs player and starts the movie. About half way through the movie, the lights start to flicker. "Steve." I say as I'm looking up at the lights. "Eddie, we killed him. It's an old house, probably just bad wiring." The lights stopped flickering and I sighed and started to watch the movie again. It felt weird. I know we killed him but, I just didn't trust it.

After the movie, me and Steve sat and talked about back to the future. "The future is his present so he has to go back to his past!" I try to explain to Steve. "That makes no sense! Why would it be called 'back to the future' if he goes back in his past?" He questioned. "I don't know! I didn't name the movie!" I laugh. "It's late. We should probably go to bed." Steve says. I pick him up and start to carry him to the bedroom. "Oh my god Eddie! Stop! Put me down!" He laughs while I run up the stairs. I set him down on the bed and laugh. "I know this is a little early but, I want kids. 6 lil nuggets." Steve randomly says. "6? Really? Come on." I exclaim. "Three girls and three boys." He replies with a smile. "Could we do 4?" I ask with a laugh. "I'll think about it." Steve answers, with a laugh. He gets up and turns the lights off. He lays down next to me and I kiss his forehead and he throws his arm over me. "Goodnight love." I say.

"Night." He says back. We both fall asleep. I wake up to Robin and Steve arguing. "THEN HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN WHY WE'RE IN THE UPSIDE DOWN STEVE? PLEASE, EXPLAIN TO THE CLASS." Robin yells sarcastically. "I DON'T. KNOW. ROBIN. I DON'T KNOW WHY WE'RE HERE." Steve yells back. I stand up and look around. "WHERE THE HELL ARE WE?!" I scream. "We're in the upside down." Nancy answers.

"HEY YOU TWO." I yell at Robin and Steve. "What are we doing here?!" I exclaim. "We don't know. We all woke up here." Robin answers. "SEE I KNEW WE WEREN'T HALLUCINATING LAST NIGHT! HA! I WAS RIGHT! I TOLD YOU!" I yelled. "Wait. Me and Robin saw the lights flickering. What did you two see?" Nancy asked. "Oh just you know OUR PIZZA GUY HAD THE SAME EYES AS MAX DID WHEN VECNA GOT HER. OH YEAH AND, OUR LIGHTS WERE FLICKERING TOO."

I respond. I look over and see El. "Yelling isn't going to help. We need to find a way out of here." Nancy says. "Eleven. Did you see anything?" Steve asks. "The lights were flickering. That is it." She said. We start walking forward looking for a way out. How did we get here? I know me and Steve fell asleep in the bed last night. Right?
