chapter 4: his guitar

Steve ~
I wake up and remember all of the stuff that happened last night. The kiss. The amazing conversations we had. I get out of bed and put on some clean clothes. I open my door and see that Eddie's door is already open. I peak inside and he's not in there. I go to his bathroom and the mirrors are foggy like he had just taken a shower but again, no Eddie.

I go downstairs and see him eating a bowl of cereal. "Hey sleepyhead" he said jokingly. "Hey, you almost ready to go fix your van?" "Sure thing" he gave me a wink and grabbed his bowl and placed it in the sink. I grabbed my keys and we walked out to my car. "So you sleep ok?" I asked. "Yeah! I slept good. That mattress is so comfortable." "Good." He looked at me and smiled. I smiled back.

We got to the school parking lot and I got out and grabbed my gas can from the trunk. I poured some gas into his van and it started! As I was walking to get back in my car because it was saturday and I didn't want to be at that school any longer than I had to, eddie chases after me and taps my shoulder. I turn around and he kisses me.

It was amazing!

He turns around and walks the other way until he stops. "What's wrong?" I asked as I ran up to him. I paused at what I saw too. Henderson. He saw the whole thing. His face looked shocked and he walked up to us.

Me and Eddie looked each other in the eyes and looked back at him. I grabbed one of his arms and Eddie grabbed the other and we put him in my backseat, and shut the doors. We got in and looked back at him. "So Henderson, what did you see?"

"Y-you kissed?"

"Yes. We kissed. You have a problem with that?" Eddie asked. "No, I'm just surprised."

"You tell anyone that me and munson are dating then I will go tell your mom what you have been doing for the past 4 years in the upside down. Understand?" "Y-yes" "okay good." "Now do you have a ride home?" "Yeah my mom is waiting for me. I have to go." He got out quickly. "Oh so we're dating?" as he looked at me I laughed and said "Yeah I thought so?"

"I mean, I'm cool with that Harrington." He left to go get back in his van. As I got in my car I saw something in the seat Eddie was sitting in. It looked like a guitar pick. I picked it up and it was Eddie's necklace! I looked to see if he was still here and he had already left. As I drove to his trailer park, I clutched the necklace in my hand. When I got to his trailer park, I looked to see if his van was parked anywhere and it was!

I parked, and and knocked on the trailer door. Eddie opened it. "Hey! I found this in my car, I think its yours." "Oh! my guitar pick! I was worried that I dropped it at your house or something. Thank you. Do you want to come in?" "Uh yeah sure" I walked in to his trailer and we walked to his bedroom. "Woah" he had a bunch of posters on the wall and he has a pile of rings on his dresser.

"Welcome to my bedroom." I look around some more and see a guitar case. He did tell me he could play master of puppets on his guitar. I guess he saw me looking at his guitar. "You want me to play something for you?" "Yeah sure!"

Eddie ~
I start playing master of puppets for steve. He starts to smile and and watches me. When I get done playing, he starts clapping. "That was really good!" I sit down on the bed next to him and he looks me in the eyes. Steve looks down at his watch. "Oh, hey i have to go. Thanks for playing for me." "Hey um here's my number. And, anytime Harrington." I smile.

He looked worried. He walked out and drove off. Great. You made him mad. I sat by the phone for hours and waited for him to call. Finally after a few hours the phone rings. I run to the phone and answer it. "Hello?" I say. "Hey. It's Steve." "Oh hey Steve!" "Um i was wondering if um.." I heard a voice in the background saying "ask him Steve!" It sounded like that robin girl from school. "Um... maybe you would want to go on a date with me?"

OH. MY. GOD.

STEVE HARRINGTON ASKED ME ON A DATE?! "Yes! Of course! When?" "I'll pick you up at 8?" "Sure, sure yeah that works." I say, trying to play it cool even though, I was really excited. We hung up the phone, and I immediately started digging through my dresser trying to find something to wear. I find a plain black shirt.

"This'll do." I get my only pair of regular, unripped jeans and put them on. I change my rings out to some nicer rings, (one's without skulls) and put my only pair of boots on. I hear a honk out side and I look at the time. It's 8 already?! I run outside and hop in Steve's car. He looks me up and down and says "well someone dressed nice." I smiled at him. I can't believe that I'm on a date with Steve Harrington.
