Steve ~
"Do you know what tomorrow is?" Eddie asks, hiding a smile. "No. What am I forgetting?" I ask. "I'll give you a hint. It was raining and my van wasn't working." He explains. "Wait. It can't be. It's only been... Oh my god. It's our anniversary?!" I exclaim, counting how many months it's been on my fingers.
"Exactly right, Stevie. Twelve months of your chaotic life." Eddie replies. "That can't be right. Why do important things always happen when we're in the hospital?!" I ask, staring at him.
"Hm. They do, don't they, Stevie boy." Eddie replies, smiling. He has dimples so, his smile is always so cute. "Get some rest. I have to go... Somewhere. I'll be back, okay?" Eddie assures me, kissing my forehead. He turns the lights off and shuts the door behind him. My eyes close.
Eddie ~
"You two!" I exclaim, pointing at Robin and Nancy. "What?" Nancy asks. "Tomorrow is our anniversary. I need your help. Robin, you're coming with me. Nancy, call Dustin and the kids. They're the distraction if he wakes up." I say, pulling Robin up and off of the ground. "Gotcha." Nancy replies, standing in front of Steve's door. Robin and I start to walk out of the hospital.
"What are we doing?" Robin asks. "I have no idea. Wait. Do you have any movies on tape?" I ask, walking out to the parking lot. "Yeah. At my house." She replies. "We don't have a car. Shit!" I exclaim. Robin sits on the sidewalk. "Hang on." I say, running to a phone hanging on the wall.
I dial the police stations number. "Hello?" I say. "Munson? What now?" Hopper asks. "Can you bring my van over to the hospital? I left it at the-" "Yeah. How's he doing?" Hopper asks.
"He's asleep right now. I just really need my van." I reply. "Okay kid. I'll be there in a few minutes." Hopper responds. I hang up the phone. "Hopper's bringing my van over." I explain, sitting down next to her. It starts to pour rain. "WELL I HOPE HE HURRIES UP!" She yells, sarcastically. I see Hopper pull up in my van. "Thanks Hopper." I say, getting into my van.
"Yeah." He replies. Robin gets in and I start driving. "That was... A lot." I say. "Yeah. It's been a year already?!" Robin asks. "It's weird. Like, yesterday, we were just graduating and then, bam! It's been a year. It's just... Crazy." I reply, parking in her driveway.
"I'll go get some movies." I say. I run inside and feed and water Lady and Ozzy. I pet them a little and then go over to the living room to get some movies.
I grab a few, not even looking at what they're, and run back outside to the van. The rain is coming down even harder now. I get inside the van and shut the door quickly. "What'd you get?" Robin asks, looking through the movies in my hand.
"Soaked. It's pouring! Oh the movies? Yeah, I don't know. I just grabbed a bunch. Doesn't he have a small TV in his room?" I ask, starting to pull out of the driveway.
"I think so. Do you want me and Nancy to leave when you put the movie on? Because we can. I mean it's totally up to you because it's your anniversary and-" "Robin, It's fine. He'll probably want you there." I reply.
"Are you sure? I really don't mind waiting outside. It's really no trouble at all. I mean-" "ROBIN! It. Is. Fine." I exclaim, laughing. "Rude." She scoffs, looking out of the window. I park in the parking lot and run inside. Robin runs after me, carrying the box of movies.
I run upstairs. I give Nancy a nod. "Okay, Out." She says, pointing at the door. The kids walk out, snickering. I roll my eyes and walk in. "Hi." I say, setting the box down. "It's like three in the morning! What are you- oh. Oh my god. It's our anniversary." Steve exclaims, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Mhm. Go back to sleep. It's not ready yet." I say before kissing him. He rolls over and shuts his eyes. I place the box in the corner and lie down in the recliner.
"Come lay with me." Steve says. "I don't think that's a good-" Steve pulls me onto the bed. "Steve! Last time-" "That. Wasn't. Your. Fault! I promise. I don't care what you say, you're sleeping here." Steve replies. "Okay, Harrington, okay." I respond.
"Hate to ruin your... moment, but this letter is to you Steve. It was in my mail." Robin says, handing him a letter. He sits up and looks confused. He starts ripping it open and a card flies out. "Our wedding. Join us on the 27th at Hawkins park. Bring a date!" It reads.
"Oh god. It's my cousin's wedding." Steve says, sighing. "It's in a few days. Do you think they'll discharge you?" I ask, staring at the card. "They said in three days. That's when the wedding is. I... Can't bring you." Steve responds. "What? Why?" I ask.
"The rest of my family they're... Not as understanding as my parents were. Nancy?" Steve calls out. "What?" She asks. Robin stares at me. "Can you come to the wedding with me? And Robin can go with Eddie? I know it's a lot to ask." Steve explains.
"I mean, if Robin's okay with it... I'm okay with it." Nancy replies, looking at Robin.
"Fine. I'm not holding his hand or anything. I AM GAY. I DON'T LIKE MEN. So I'm not doing anything like that." Robin responds.
"Same here. But I do like men." I add, holding in a laugh. "Very funny, Munson. Okay just... No kissing. If we get caught... Just no kissing." Steve replies, sarcastically.
"I don't know if I can go that long. That's a while, Stevie." I say, playfully. "Promise me Munson, no kissing. Okay?" Steve asks. "Yeah, yeah no kissing, I heard you." I respond.
