"ARE YOU TWO COMING to Duke's party tonight?" Caroline asked Charlie and JJ curiously when she spotted them walking into the Grill. JJ had a shift, and Charlie offered to hang out while she worked.

The Lockwood had been looking for jobs recently ever since she got kicked out, and she figured that she could come watch JJ at her job to see if she wanted to give being a waitress a shot. Since both Matt and her girlfriend worked there, she would never be lonely, so that was also a plus.

Charlie shrugged, "I don't know. J, do you wanna go?" She turned to the Martin girl and raised her eyebrows in question.

"Sure. It's been a while since I've been to a good party," the blonde answered with a smirk. "And I heard that this guy is bringing, like, ten kegs, so I think it'll be pretty great."

"Great. Now I just have to get Elena and Bonnie to respond to my texts. Do either of you know where they are?" she quizzed the two, and they both shook their heads. The Lockwood was kind of lying, however, because Stefan had texted Charlie earlier saying that Anna took Elena, so the Lockwood knew that the Gilbert was with Anna somewhere. She was not exactly lying because she did not know her exact location. As for Bonnie, they had no clue.

They entered the restaurant, and JJ leaned over to peck Charlie on the cheek. "Bye, babe. I gotta go clock in." She then turned and walked toward the back room. The brunette reached up and touched her cheek gently. Her girlfriend had been kind of distant lately, and she had no idea why. It was in subtle ways, such as kissing her cheek instead of her mouth.

Caroline didn't notice her friend's distress because she had spotted Jeremy across the room sitting in front of Tyler and Matt. The Donovan walked off to do his job soon after, though. "Hey, maybe Jeremy knows where Elena is," Caroline pointed out, and she dragged Charlie with her to ask him. "Hey, Jeremy. Where is Elena? I have been texting her and Bonnie all day about Duke's party."

"Uh, she went somewhere with Stefan," Jeremy replied. Charlie waved at her brother behind her, and he shot her a smile before she turned back to the Gilbert boy. She felt guilty because she knew that Elena was being held hostage somewhere by the girl he thought was his friend.
