CHARLIE SOMETIMES WONDERED WHERE THE HELL the town got the money to fund all of the events that it and the school planned. There was no way that all of the fundraisers paid for that. It seemed like as soon as an event ended, there was a new one to prepare for. Currently, everyone was setting up for the Booster Club Barbecue.

The Lockwood siblings were being their bitter selves and walking around the school, glaring at all of the decorations. Their mother had talked their ear off that morning about the Barbecue and telling them to be helpful. Of course, they did not plan to listen to her, but what she didn't know didn't hurt her.

They were outside when Caroline came up to them and turned to the older sibling with raised eyebrows. She quizzed, "How are you feeling?"

"I'm okay. I'm sore, every muscle aches," he complained to her, rubbing his shoulder.

Feeling a little left out in the conversation between her best friend and her brother that clearly had a thing for each other, Charlie raised her hand and informed them, "I'm also doing alright in case you guys were wondering."

"You did it. You know, you...you're first full moon and you didn't hurt anyone," the Forbes girl told Tyler after shooting a playful look at his younger sister and patting her shoulder. "It'll get easier. You'll get better at it, you'll learn to control it and it won't hurt so much."

"I don't want to lie to you, so I'm not going to. It has just barely gotten better for me, but I guess I've only been transforming for half a year. So, actually, I have no clue," the Lockwood girl rambled, and once she realized that she was, she shut up because she was not really helping.

Her brother nodded slowly, letting them k ow that he was processing the information. He finally spoke up, "So, we don't know any of that for sure."

"No but small victories, Tyler," Caroline responded, remaining optimistic and looking at him assuredly. "Last night was a victory. You know, let's take it."

"Look, I really want to thank you. I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't been there. You two, Charlie," he told them gratefully, causing them to smile back at him.
