THERE WAS A GOING AWAY PARTY FOR JEREMY AND CHARLIE. However, only about three people showed up. It was just them and Matt and Alaric, and Damon and Elena were on their way after picking up the two's diplomas. Tyler and Caroline could not make it, but Charlie had arranged to say goodbye to them later. Jeremy sighed, "Look. I want to take this shot before Alaric changes his mind about letting me drink."

"This place is closed for another hour. I'm making an exception. Cheers," Alaric said, and they all clinked glasses before downing the shots. Then, the man pointed at the kid that he was the guardian of. "I swear, Jeremy, if I get a call from the drunk tank in Santa Fe..."

Jeremy was about to comment when Matt's phone started ringing on the table in front of them. He furrowed his eyebrows, and they all leaned in to see who it was. The Gilbert boy questioned, "Why is Enzo still alive, and why is he calling you?"

"More important question: Why and how did you get his number?" Charlie quizzed. She had never had a pleasant enough conversation with the man to be like, 'Oh, hey, could I get your phone number in case I need to reach you for no reason?'

"Nothing you two need to worry about," Matt assured them. He grabbed the phone and answered the call. He began walking away so that he could talk to the man without ruining the party. "Hey, it's Jeremy's going-away party. Whatever you want, it can wait a day."

The doorbell of the Mystic Grill chimed, and they all looked up to see Damon and Elena entering with two pieces of paper and two graduation caps. The Salvatore man held them up an announced, "Oh! Look who graduated."

"He was okay with it?" Jeremy exclaimed, and Charlie's eyes widened. She had honestly not been expecting to get her diploma, even on time with all of the school that they had missed and all of the trouble that they had caused. She was r pretty sure that there must have been some compulsion involved.

"Sure. I mean, practically flunking, missed 100 days of school, and you can barely spell the word 'cat,' but sure. He was fine with you graduating early," Damon explained sarcastically. He then looked over at the Lockwood girl. "Charlie was a bit harder with her thousands of volunteering hours, thirty extracurriculars, and near-perfect grades despite missing almost as many days."
