54.2. Coming Out

Imagine: Adopting a child with your girlfriend, and your best friend, Eric, becomes a badass uncle.

G/F/N= Girlfriend's name, Y/S/N= Your son's name

It's been almost two years since your best friend, Eric, had helped you come out to all of your friends, and ever since then you had been dating G/F/N. Today was a big day for both of you, the two of you had adopted a child, today was the day you would get to bring him home, and in all honesty, Eric was more excited than the both of you were.

You and G/F/N make your way to the Dauntless adoption centre, sign a few papers, and finally take your 2-year-old son home, "Hey, Y/S/N you finally get to go home."

He smiles still feeling shy, ever since the adoption process had begun, you were allowed to see him three times a month, but he had barely opened up to either of you, however, you were hoping that bringing him home would help.

You step into your and G/F/N's shared apartment, and showed him around. He still hadn't said a word, he just gave a few smiles and nods. You finally show him his room, which is already loaded with clothes, furniture, and toys.

Suddenly you hear a knock on the door, you open it and Eric walks in with an enormous gift bag, "Where's my little nephew?"

You give Eric a hug and lead him to Y/S/N's room, Y/S/N looks up from his toys and at Eric. Eric walks into the room and Y/S/N squirms away slowly, "Hey buddy, don't be scared, I'm your uncle Eric!"

Eric sits down next to him and looks up at you, "He hasn't said a word since we brought him home."

"Oh, let Uncle Eric handle this," You've never seen Eric act so cute.

"Are you hungry Y/S/N?" You ask him and he nods, "Alright, I'll go make you something."

"I'm hungry too!" Eric calls after you as you walk away; you shake your head and laugh.

G/F/N joins you in the kitchen as you make some food for Y/S/N and Eric, "Do you want anything to eat G/F/N?"

"No thanks babe, I'm not hungry right now."

You stand in the kitchen for another ten minutes when you hear a squeal coming from Y/S/N's room, you and G/F/N exchange a confused glance and make your way to his room. As you get closer, you finally hear Y/S/N's voice, "Giddy uuup Uncle Ewic!"

You and G/F/N stand by the door and see Eric running around giving Y/S/N a piggyback ride as the two of them pretend to shoot invisible villains, once again Y/S/N squeals, "Faaaster uncle Ewic! Get them, don't let them get awaaay!"

Eric finally puts Y/S/N down and starts tickling him, Y/S/N shrieks with laughter. You and G/F/N smile at one another, and Eric finally looks up at you, his face goes red, "Oh, sorry, I didn't realize you were there!"

You laugh, "It's okay, you're really cute with kids."

"Don't ever say that again Y/N!" You laugh, "Nobody should know about this."

G/F/N brings the plates of food in for Y/S/N, he brightly smiles up at the two of you, "Tank you, mommies!"

Eric walks out of Y/S/N's room to get himself a glass of water, and you go with him, "Thanks Eric."

He turns around to face you, "For what?"

"For making Y/S/N feel at home," You smile gratefully at him.

"Hey, Uncle Eric to the rescue right?" He says cheekily.

"You make an amazing uncle!"

"I can't wait until he's a little bit older and I can actually train him to be like his badass uncle," He flexes his arms jokingly and you punch his shoulder.

"Oh shut up," You giggle.

End.
