Words: 2.0K

A/N: I gave Eric and Reader a little backstory. I hope you don't mind :)

*************************************

Eric couldn't believe his eyes when you jumped out of the train. He hadn't been at this years Choosing Ceremony. He couldn't know you would jump onto the roof. He couldn't know you would chose Dauntless over Erudite.

When you walked behind the other transfers to the edge of the roof, you saw Eric looking at you. With an incredibly flabbergasted face, like someone had hit him. He had probably thought he wouldn't see you ever again. Surprise, bitch. He was not the only one that did escape from Erudite.

Your arrival distracted him that much, that he had been reminded to tell the initiates what they had to do.

„You jump off the roof or you're out before you've even been in." He stepped aside to make room for the jumpers. He wanted to talk to you now, pull you away and ask you why you were here, but he couldn't when everyone else was there.

He waited. Until you jumped. But then he waited longer. Because Four instantly took the transfer initiates with him. He waited until all the new initiates arrived for dinner that evening. But he couldn't talk to you there, too. So he waited longer. The next day and the day after that.

On your third day in Dauntless Eric appeared at the transfers training. He trained the Dauntless-born but today he wanted to see transfer fights. Four didn't make you fight against each other until now. He didn't have a choice with Eric demanding it.

The first fight was between Lester, an Erudite and Candor, the two best transfer initiates. As far as you could see it was a good fight. A lot of blood and pain cries. You observed it with nearly full attention. But Eric didn't. Whenever your eyes went up to look at him, he looked at you, too. If eyes could kill you were dead nine times by now. This glare was one he already managed back at Erudite. But back then you weren't the one who received it. You were the one, who went along with it, because your eyes could do the same as his. So you did.

He couldn't believe you stood there, arms crossed and suppressing an evil smirk. You enjoyed playing with his limit. You wanted to see him explode in front of everyone. But he wouldn't give you this satisfaction. Today, after the fights, he would talk to you. He wouldn't wait any longer. But before that, he wanted to see you laying on your beautiful back.

„Tara and Y/N. Your turn." Four pointed to the mat.

It was easy for you. Over a year ago you saw Eric training for his transfer. After he went away, you started doing the same. You read a lot of books, using the descriptions to improve the work out. You had prepared yourself. Probably even better than Eric had done.

Tara was a skinny, little Candor transfer. She hadn't made any progress since she arrived here. Her name was under the red line, yours already high above it. It took you three punches to knock her to the infirmary.

Another four fights later Four finished the training. With a last glimpse at Eric's angry face, you turned and walked behind the other initiates out of the training hall. But you didn't come far. In the dark tunnels a hand around your arm dragged you into a smaller tunnel. He pushed you to the wall with his arm under your chin.
