Imagine: Being sick and impressing Eric by choosing to train anyway.

Your head is throbbing as you walk into the training room, you had woken up with a pretty bad fever and even though you should have visited the infirmary, you couldn't afford to miss a day of training -especially not a fighting class.

You feel like you have a balloon around your head from how stuffy you are. Christina walks up to you, "Y/N? You don't look so good... are you okay?"

"I'm sick, obviously," You say with a nasally voice.

"You shouldn't be fighting today," She looks genuinely worried.

"I can't afford that," You respond before turning towards Four and Eric, who were making their way towards the middle of the floor.

"Alright," Eric begins, "The fights for today are up on the board. We'll be starting with Tris and Molly." This should be good.

The fights go on, some are quick, other are not so much, but it's finally your turn, "Last fight, Y/N and Amara, get up here."

You walk towards the ring, coughing, everyone can tell how sick you are; Four even gives you a sympathetic look.

You begin fighting and after being thrown to the ground three times, your nose is bleeding and you head is spinning.

"Alright enough," Four calls, "She's obviously too sick to fight. It's against the rules to allow sick or injured initiates to fight; she should be in the infirmary." What is he doing?

"No," Eric responds, "She had a choice when she woke up this morning, go to the infirmary or come to training, and this is what she chose."

"It doesn't matter what she chose, she's losing anyways, just send her to the infirmary." Pity...you scoff from the ground, he's taking pity on me.

"No," You groan, pushing yourself off the ground. With a newfound adrenaline you continue, "I want to keep fighting."

Eric smirks at you, clearly impressed, and amused that you speak up against Four.

Your adrenaline takes over and start punching relentlessly -you're normally really good at kicking ass, so your instincts were just coming back. Within the next five minutes, she's out cold.

"Alright, class dismissed," Eric calls as two initiates carry her out and you sink down to the mat, clutching your head in your hands.

Eric's POV

I smirk down at her, proud that she could stand her ground, and I sit down next her, "You should go to the infirmary."

"I probably should," She agrees, before laughing, "I can't believe I did that. If Four didn't hate me before this, he definitely does now."

I shrug, "Who cares about him anyways?" She chuckles at my comment, then proceeds to cough profusely, "Okay, you definitely need to go to the infirmary."

"You're probably right," She nods, pushing herself to her feet.

I can't help but feel genuinely impressed, I haven't seen many initiates like her, and I'm definitely going to do whatever I can to help her get through.
