Imagine: Being forced to take care of Eric when he's sick as a punishment.

You're scrolling through your phone when you hear Eric sneeze. When you look up, you can tell he's cold, and you groan internally before getting up to get him a blanket.

You had talked back to one of your instructors during training -he deserved it- but as a punishment you were forced to look after Eric, who just so happened to be incredibly sick.

You weren't happy about this arrangement, but neither was the young leader. Eric wasn't one to skip work but Max had ordered it, and he had also forced Eric under your care.

You throw the blanket in his general direction and he mutters a thanks.

Most of the morning had been spent glaring at each other, him being too proud to ask for help and you too petty to ask if he needed any. If you noticed that he was visibly uncomfortable and you really had to do something, you would help but other than that, you stayed in your seat.

After a while, you finally decided to try to start a conversation. As time went on, you realized that Eric was a big reader, and despite how scary he seemed, he was honestly a huge nerd. The two of you fell into a long conversation about your favourite books and you actually started enjoying your time with him.

You even went out of your way to soak a towel in cold water to lay on his forehead, to bring down the fever.

When Max finally sent Eric a text saying you were free to leave, you were honestly disappointed. You could stay for another few hours if you had to, but if felt weird to ask -he was a leader and you were an initiate after all.

You got your stuff together and just as you were about to leave, Eric called, "Y/N, if you'd like, you can stop by after training tomorrow. It's nice to have some decent company around here."

"Will do," You chuckle, faking a nonchalant tone, even though you were incredibly excited on the inside.
