Imagine: Eric finding out that you're Divergent and arguments ensue.

Warning: Some physical abuse and angst.

"Eric, please say something," You stand in front of him. He's sitting on the couch holding his head in his hands. Eric had just found out that you were Divergent, you don't know how he found out but he was furious. To make matters worse, you had hidden it from him for the entirety of your two year relationship, "Please Eric, yell at me, scream if you have to, but please say something!"

He shoots off of the couch and steps in front of you, "What do you want me to say?!"

"Er-"

"You've been lying to me, for years!"

You let out a shaky breath, and reach out to him but he knocks your head out of the way. His actions break you and you burst into tears, "Eric, I'm sorry I was sca-"

"Scared?!" He even looks teary eyed at this point, "Everyone is scared of me Y/N, but I can deal with that. You though? The only thing I ever wanted was for you not to be scared of me."

"Eric I lov-"

"Don't," He hisses, "You have no right to say that right now! You lied to me."

You argue back and forth for a moment, until he snaps and hits you. It's just a slap, nothing too violent, not enough to leave a mark but enough to make it sting. The room falls into a deafening silence and it feels like time has stopped. You stumble away from him, bumping in to the wall behind you, and the expression that crosses his face is more pain-filled than you've ever felt, "N-no, Y/N, d-don't you dare... don't you dare think I meant that."

You slide down to the ground, sobbing, you hear him cursing under his breath as he approaches you, he sits down in front of you and hesitantly pulls you into his arms. When he sees that you're not resisting, he pulls you closer. You hold on to each other as if your lives depend on it, both crying, and muttering continuous apologise.

"We're a fucking mess Eric," You sniffle, after a while of silence, "This relationship isn't good for us."

"There is nothing in this world that is better for me than you are Y/N, I am so fucking sorry, ple-please," He chokes out, wiping his face with the back of his hand, "If you leave I'll have nothing... you're my everything."

Knowing deep down that you could never live without him, you nod, burying your face back into the crook of his neck, "I'm sorry."

He shushes you, "I love you."

"I love you too."
