Pulling on a dress and shoes I tie my sword around my waist while walking towards the throne room. I smile at the guards thanking them as I enter finding my father, king Oropher and Lord Eärendil already seated. Thranduil and Elrond walk in shortly after I do both bowing I curtsey in response sitting at the table on my father left leaving the one on the right free for my mother. Captain Ophir enters with my mother both joining us at the table "Welcome we are here to discuss possible outcomes in the future."
I listen intently flicking my gaze to who ever is talking trying not to think about Thranduil who keeps trying to invade my thoughts. Banishing him to the back of my mind I focus back on father who looks calm as ever "We will not make any immediate decisions. But shall all be prepared to aid each other should it be needed. We have messengers hidden near the dark mountain lets pray nothing comes of it. For now let us enjoy each others company." Oropher smiles "I have a few buisness things I which to discuss if you do not mind?" my father smiles "Of course not. You are all welcome to stay as long as you wish."
Standing I kiss my fathers cheek "I'll see you later father." I bow my head to the others in the room before leaving heading for the kitchens. "Y/N." I turn standing to attention "Captain Ophir." he smiles "You are improving every day in training, the librarian mentioned you have been using the library to pracitce?." I feel my eyes widen and he chuckles "It would explain your progress. I am glad you are taking your training so seriously. If you would like more time in the training ring don't hesitate to ask." I smile "Thank you."
He bows his head slightly before leaving quickly replaced by Thranduil "It would seem we have the afternoon free." I smile falling into step next to him leading the way to the kitchens "Would you like to go to the waterfall?" he smiles "If you have no plans."
"No I would love to show you. Would you like anything to eat?"
"I am alright thank you. Shall I meet you outside?"
"Sounds excellent." he leaves and I continue down to the kitchens grabbing an apple and lembas bread smiling at the cook who waves slightly before I leave. I debate changing but decide against it I can ride perfectly fine in a dress. I simple pull on some sturdier boots and my fur lined cloak.
Thranduil is waiting at the bottom of the steps with his own horse and Elira already saddled "Lead the way princess." I pull myself up into the saddle adjusting my cloak slightly "It isn't far." snow starts falling lightly from the sky the flakes soft and floofy getting caught in our hair but the sun is shining brightly making everything glitter. "Your home is beautiful." I smile looking around "Yes, I love living in the trees."
The trees get to thick to ride through so we both dismount tying them up in a small clearing before pushing our way through to the small lake on the other side. The waterfall is frozen in a beautiful cascade of ice falling into the pool at the bottom smooth ice frosted over with a light layer of snow dusting the surface. The river winding of into the distance also frozen but the water still flowing deep under the ice "This place is stunning." I smile walking over the snow to the edge of the ice crouching down to peer into the misty waters beneath "It is usually full of otters, fish and a so many birds and deer its lovely and so peaceful. Everything is hibernating at the moment but it feels almost magical."
Thranduil crouches next to me "Is this where you saw all the animals in your drawings?" I smile nodding "I am suprised you remember those." he chuckles "They are lovely my favourite is the stag... do you hear that?" The both of us stand walking towards the sound finding a tiny baby bird half frozen on the ground "Its far to early for chicks is it not?" I pick it up cradling it close while scanning the trees for a possible nest "Actually the Tuyet falcons would be hatching about now but I cannot see a nest anywhere the poor thing must have been blown here." the chick coos snuggling into my hands probably enjoying the warmth "Must be hungry. They mostly eat meat but berries will have to do for now."
We walk back to clearing where there is a bush laden with bright red berries which the baby bird eats happily before falling asleep tucked into a pocket of my cloak "I suppose he is yours." I smile nodding "I suppose so."
