Your p/o/v:

Laeanna refuses to speak to me at all the following morning but I take it as a small blessing as the horses are saddled and packed ready for the journey home. I change into the same gown I arrived in not worried about getting it dusty on the road before joining my family by the main gate stroking Elira on the nose "Thank you for having us Oropher. I hope to return the favour soon." the king and father collaspe hands "An honour as always Thoron. Safe journey home." Thranduil smiles bowing to me and my sister "It has been lovely to make your acquaintance."

We both curtsey back Laeanna giving him her winning smile "I hope we get to meet again soon your highness." he nods smiling tightly "Safe journey home." he walks over to his father while we mount our horses.

The journey home is warm but pleasant the forest alive with animals scurrying around happily in the shade of the trees. We reach Alqualonde as the sun has just begun setting and I head straight to my room taking my pressed flower out of the book and onto a piece of parchment on my desk before unpacking the rest of my belongings turning when the door slams open Lae hissing "I told you he was mine." I sigh "I have no interest in the prince other than friends, please calm down."

She scowls crossing her arms "I am far prettier than you I don't see why he would prefer you." I fight the urge to roll my eyes. Her skin is pristine and hair long and glossy with perfect features and curves but I've never minded about any of that "Lae relax please. There are plenty of princes in the world and I can assure you I am intrested in none of them." she stalks back out the room shutting the door behind her. I sigh undoing the back of my dress so I can change into my nightdress, she can be difficult but does have a loveable side its just hard to see it some times.

A week later a letter arives addressed in elegant sweeping letters and Thranduils seal on the back in green wax. I sit on my balcony unfolding it.

Dear Y/N,

I hope you arrived home safely and are well. I don't often write letters but hope this is adequate. I greatly enjoyed our time together in the gardens and remember you mentioned you enjoyed reading. Do you have any book recommendations? I would recommned the following three which I have read multiple times and enjoyed immensly.

best regards

Thranduil

I smile and walk to my desk finding my pen and ink writing a reply

Dear Thranduil,

I arrived home safely thank you for asking and am very well. My father has allowed me to train three days a week now with the Captain of the guard Aiduin. I have not read any of the books you have recommned so will give them a go.

I would have to recommned my favourites:
Before the storm- Evanora Starfall
Touch of light-Alruna Thorn
Obsidian dust- Aramis Cloud

The weather is turning colder but reading by the fire is one of my favourite past times. I hope you are well.

Yours faithfully

Y/N
