Animal Class: Reptile
Diet: Carnivorous
Similar to Gargoyles, fully grown Cherufe have nearly unbreakable skin.
Cherufe get their unbreakable skin from living inside active volcanoes and being around magma for an majority of their lives. The magma hardens their bodies and their skin ends up feeling like solid rock.
All Cherufe are capable of laying eggs with both individuals becoming pregnant after mating.
They lay their eggs next to magma pools and push them into the magma when they are a few days away from hatching. The young hatch inside the magma and this is what starts the hardening of their skin.
Cherufe have so much heat resistant that is could theoretically be possible for them to live on the surface of the sun.
Cherufe only leave their volcanic homes to hunt, which they only have to do about once a month because of their low metabolism.
They have the ability to spit small balls of fire from their mouth, but their aim is terrible and it usually takes several attempts for them to hit what they are aiming at.
Despite being Reptiles, Cherufe are very capable of surviving in cold climates. They sometimes use their fire spit to make trails through deep snow.
When angry a Cherufe's body temperature rises drastically, to the point that its body begins to steam. It becomes impossible for many other living creatures to stand near them when this happens unless they want to be burned. Water will boil, snow will melt, and patches of grass will burn away if an angry Cherufe is near them.
While Cherufe are not capable of speech, they do seem to be intelligent enough to understand creatures that are capable of speech.
Extra Fun Fact: Cherufe appear to be very jealous of Dragons and Dragons that have bonded with a rider like to joke that this is because they are mad that Dragons are better at making fire come out of their mouths.
