Animal Class: Mammal

Diet: Carnivorous ( some individuals have been seen being slightly omnivorous)

Naturally live in Africa, but there have been unconfirmed sightings in South America, Australia, and the Middle East.

Live in caves in colonies that can number in the high 90's and they are usually lead by an alpha pair.

They sleep during the day and come out at night to hunt. They mainly hunt Gazelle, Impala, Zebra, and Wildebeest, but if they team up to hunt they are capable of bring down bigger prey like Buffalo, Rhinos, and Hippos.

Despite being a species of bat, they are immune to Rabies.

Tend to have between 3 to 5 young at once. ( The young are looked after by both parents and in some causes, older siblings will also look after them)

It takes about 2 months for young Olitiau to learn how to fly and they are very vulnerable to attacks from predators like Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, Hyenas, Servals, Caracals, Jackals, and African Wild Dogs until then.( These predators tend to flee from adult Olitiau)

The young that can't fly, but still come with their parents when they leave the cave at night. They cling to the belly of one of their parents, but are very prone to falling off, so Olitiau with young tend to fly close to the ground to prevent a falling youngster from being badly wounded in a fall.

Like other species of bat, they sleep hanging upside down and they use echolocation. ( They mainly use it to communicate with other members of their colony over long distances rather than use it to find their way around)

They are highly feared in some parts of Africa because they like to raid villages, but they usually don't harm harm the humans in the village because they usually only come there to prey on livestock like Goats and Cattle, but they will attack a human if they are provoked. ( Because of this, Olitiau injure or kill almost as many people every year in Africa as some species of Big Cat do)

Male Olitiau can be anywhere from 5 feet to 9 tall while females can be from 4 feet to 7 feet tall.

Extra Fun Fact: Due to the fact that they are immune to Rabies, some hunters train small groups of Olitiau to help them track down and kill rabid wild animals.
