Animal Class: Reptile

Diet: Carnivorous

Note: This species is Extinct

Once a common sight throughout the southern Southeastern United States, Gator People were a completely terrestrial species of Crocodilian.

They were the only two legged and completely terrestrial Crocodilian to exist in more modern times.

The last known Gator Person in existence was found dead in Mississippi in 1961. It had died from some kind of illness.

They were excellent swimmers, but never hunted in the water.

They had a huge rivalry with Rougarou and being slowly outcompeted by them is what contributed to their extinction.

Overhunting was also a big contribution to their extinction as they were viewed as a huge threat towards people and their livestock.

Their claws were formidable weapons that could easily slice through medium sized trees with a few hits whilst their jaws could easily crush stone.

They were around 7 feet tall whilst standing straight up.

Due to the fact that they shared many of the same prey, Gator People often came into conflict with their American Alligator cousins. However, the Alligators only won these confrontations if the Gator Person that they were fighting somehow ended up in the water.

There have been many sightings of apparent Gator People after they were declared extinct, but they also end up being misidentifications. Everything from Wyverns to Frog People have been mistaken for surviving Gator People.

The average lifespan of a Gator Person ranged from 45 to 70 years.

Extra Fun Fact: The " Gator Person" that was seen in New Jersey in 1973 was actually a Lizard Person that allegedly took great offense to being mistaken for a Gator Person.
