Mothpeople have a sixth sense that allows them to be able to tell when something bad and disastrous is about to happen. They show up in places where something bad is about to happen to warn the nearby residents that it is about to happen. However, many uneducated people believe that they cause the disasters causing them to hunt them down out of fear and anger.

Naturally live in the southern parts of the United States, but many have migrated to other parts of the United States in order to avoid the uneducated hunters and some have been sighted as far south as Guatemala and as far north as Newfoundland.

Females lay between 3 to 8 eggs at a time and when they hatch, they are roughly the same size as a 2 to 3 year old human child.( They don't have a larvae stage like other types of Moth) These young are born knowing how to fly and are very good at it, but it takes them a few months to become brave enough to fly more than a couple feet off the ground.

Another myth that uneducated people believe about Mothpeople is that they will steal your soul if you stare into their bright red eyes. This is untrue as staring into its eyes has no effect on anything and is just an old wives' tale that many southerners still believe.

They are a mostly nocturnal species with very terrible eyesight during the day. The only time they are seen during the day is when they come out to warn humans and other creatures about upcoming disasters.

Live in small colonies in mountains, caves, forests, and abandoned buildings. This colonies have no leader and they instead make decisions as a group.

They are very intelligent creatures and have their own language. Many have learned to speak English and other languages and some can even read. A very small few have even been seen using sign language.

They are much stronger than they look and are able to support the weight of a fully grown human while flying. Many people that have gotten lost in the woods and mountains have been rescued by a Mothperson that flew them to safety.

Despite their strong wings, they can not fly when they are too wet, so they tend to avoid going out during storms, but they have been known to create makeshift umbrellas using wood or plant material, so that they can go out during those storms.

Unlike most species of Moth, Mothpeople are not attracted to bright lights. They are usually only distracted by them for a few seconds.

Extra Fun Fact: During the first few sightings of Mothpeople, they were referred to in the newspapers by the name Mothman despite the fact that many of those sightings were of female Mothpeople.
