Dryads are born as Fairies. They transform into Dryads after pledging themselves to an Ent using magic.

A Dryad's job is to help an Ent look after the forest. They will inform the Ent of any problems that are happening in the forest and will help the Ent solve that problem.

While they are Herbivores, they will only eat plants that have already died. One meal can be enough to keep them going for years.

Like Ents, Dryads have the ability to manipulate and control plants. However, they use this ability very often in order to protect the forest from those that mean to cause it harm.

They are capable of communicating telepathically with their Ent masters and they don't have to be touching the same plant at the same time in order to do so. They will be able to communicate with each other no matter how far away they are from the other and since Dryads are capable of speech, they serve as a voice for Ents.

When an Ent dies, Dryads are able to tell what piece of that Ent's remains will grow into a new Ent and it is their job to look after it until it does. If they fail to protect it, they will either turn back into Fairies or die. ( It's a 50/50 chance)

Dryads are capable of feeling the pain of the forest, but it doesn't affect them as bad as it affects Ents.

The number of Dryads in the service of an individual Ent can vary. The current record for most Dryads in its service goes to an Ent that lives in a Southern section of the Amazon. It was last known to have had 251 Dryads in its service.

Dryads are now immune to the weaknesses that they had as Fairies and are not negatively affected by things like salt and certain types of metal.

Being a Dryad is optional and should any Dryad want to return to their life as a Fairy they are free to do so.

Like their Ent masters, Dryads are immortal and immune from physical damage.

They have kept the size changing abilities that they had as Fairies and can shrink down to the size of a House Fly or grow to the size of the average Human.

Extra Fun Fact: A common question that is asked is whether or not Pixies are capable of being transformed into Dryads. The answer is no. The transformation into a Dryad is too much for the fragile and corrupted body of a Pixie to handle.
