Naturally live in Asia, Africa, and the warmer parts of Europe, but in recent years have migrated into parts of Australia.
Avoid cold weather at all costs and it is believed that they do this because they may not be able to fly in the cold.
Like Werewolves, Griffins mate for life and will not find a new mate when their mate dies. But unlike Werewolves, they can be separated from their mates for an extended period of time without going crazy.
Lay between 3 to 9 eggs, but unlike most creatures that can fly, a Griffin can fly from birth. However, they are still very clumsy at first, but it only takes them about a half a year or so to master it.
They have to known to form flocks, but they almost always hunt alone. ( Even mated pairs prefer to hunt alone)
Nest in mountains and forests, but many flocks have been known to nest in the ruins of medieval castles.
They kill their prey almost instantly by falling down on it from above with their talons outstretched.
They were once hunted to near extinction in some parts of Asia due to the myth that their claws were full of healing properties.
They have been reported sightings of Griffins that live in the ocean and have flippers instead of wings, but his species has yet to be confirmed to exist.
Extra Fun Fact: Attila the Hun and Genghis Khan both used trained Griffins to fight alongside them in battle and according to historical documents, some of their soldiers would sometimes ride them into battle.
