One of the most peaceful creatures of all time, Elves do their best to avoid conflict and will try their best to peacefully talk their way out of any conflict that happens around them, but they will not hesitate to fight back with their graceful movements, archery skills, sword skills, or magic if the situation demands it.
Elves have an amazing relationship with nature. They help take care of the environment ( holidays like Earth Day and Arbor Day are much bigger holidays in Elf society than they are in human society) by doing things like planting trees, stopping deforestation, not hunting and killing animals for food and sport ( they will usually only kill an animal to put it out of its misery), and other environmental protection things.
Elves have the power to calm angry creatures that are going on rampages and some have been able to calm things as a angry as Werewolves in their Berserker Wolf form.
Many Elves live in large treehouse cities deep in forests and are usually lead by a king, queen, or both. The next king or queen was originally chosen by birthright, but in more recent years the way to become king or queen has changed to were the next leader has to earn it.
Elves are immortal and immune to all diseases ( their wounds are also immune to infection) and usually only die from wounds. An Elf must step down from being king or queen after 200 years of being the leader, but they can choose to step down anytime after they have been leader for 50 years.
While it is very hard to annoy or anger an Elf, they tend to become very irritated when dwarves are around. Thousands of years ago, they had a long war with the Dwarves that eventually come to a stop when both sides realized that they couldn't remember what they were fighting about.
They can use magic, but it is very weak magic that is usually only used for healing purposes or to help hide and protect their cities from intruders.
A Elf will choose a romantic partner and stay with that partner forever. ( Like with Merpeople, the lifespan of an Elf can be transferred to the partner of an Elf that isn't immortal, but Elves keep how they do that a secret)
Elves can a much shorter time to learn to do things like read, write, and speak different languages. ( Elves have their own language that is very easy for other creatures to learn) Most Elves are perfectly capable of doing those things by the time they turn 8. Almost every Elf keeps day to day journals that allow them to look back on things that they have done throughout their immortal life.
Elves do not tend to hold grudges for a very long time and almost never seek revenge.
Many master olympic archers have actually been trained by Elves.
Due to being so at one with nature, Elves are unbothered by most weather. They don't sweat during hot weather, don't need to wear winter clothing because the cold doesn't affect them, and their hair stays dry during heavy rain.
In Elf society, males and females are equal and is is very common to see female warrior Elves and male Elves that stay home to take care of their children instead of working.
Extra Fun Fact: For the extended cuts of " The Lord of the Rings" and " The Hobbit" movies, all of the scenes that had the Elf characters made of CGI were replaced by real Elves doing the stunts for the actors.
