The futility of having an ability

If you were given the ability to see things that normal humans can't, like the grim future, what's the point of having that gift if you cannot prevent them from happening?

Humans have freewill, and yet, when we try to defy the odds, when we try to alter and fight the waves of time and fate, the ill-fate comes all the more as if saying: "so, you try to delay me? I will come tommorow with a blast for you. You cannot manipulate me, dear." and smirk at us, foolish humans.

Then, what are we supposed to do?

Are we supposed to do anything? Or nothing at all? Which is which?

What's that ability for?

Is it perhaps, to make us realize things about life? In a negative point of view, it looks like the reason is for us to see the agonies of this world: the death, the suffering, the futility of all.

It feels like, as soon as we were born in this planet or universe, we were thrown to this first level hellish place and left to be on our own. Like conscious pieces.

Having an ability that you don't know the purpose of... is futile.
