An advice for students

"My biggest regret was studying hard and doing nothing else," says the UP Cebu Summa Cum Laude

Back then in school, this is what I feared. To be imprisoned in school stuffs. I am an achiever, but above all, why do I go to school? Is it just to be a. Honor student? That's it? I see no meaning in that. That's boring.

At school, I know that the main objective is to LEARN.

Learn what?

Anything under the sun.

Learning comes on many ways.

In books that I have read. In the lectures and experiences of my teachers, in our activities...

Curiousity drives me. Sometimes, the bullies, too. It's just satisfying to see the bullies with the highest honors to be not able to answer, while me, bida sa recitation. 🤣

I joined as many extracurricular activities that caught my interest. journalism, debates, quiz bowls, choir, drama club, dancing, leadership camps, relays, even senior scouts of the Philippines. Muntik na tumakbo sa SSG. Pati modeling din pala, I almost forgot.

All of it, to hone my mind, my brain, and my body. Also, my social and speaking skills!

Napapagalitan ako ni mama kasi magastos sumali sa mga ganyan. Even asked, ano ba napapala ko dyan?

And I answered that it is important to learn not just from the books. But from experiences. Experience is the best teacher after all. Importante matuto ng mga life skills, and to develop talents (given by god) of course.

Kung Aral Ka nang aral, Di Ka nag-e-enjoy, you lose half of your life into a meaningless and robotic journey. After all the awards, and medals, what's next? What now?

Karamihan ng inaral mo sa school, it will be forgotten. But the memories, and  the learning experiences from extracurricular activities, it will remain longer. :)
