The master Jedi taught us that pain and suffering makes us evil.
Because according to my understanding, people who are in pain felt like they are being oppressed. That they are victims of the evil people. Evil people are the enemies. Enemies should die to stop pain. So that justice would prevail.
Thinking that they are the victims, people would then try to gain justice by persecuting the evil. Bad people deserve bad karma. Killing them. Annihilating them. Torturing them. Not being aware that they are turning into the evil that they used to hate.
And that is how, the victims, now become the ones who victimize.
But to me, pain, suffering, the desire to get justice are all parts of the human energy. The good and the bad. The morals and the instincts, the yin and the yang must coexist. Extreme will do us no good. What makes a person evil is not the presence of these overwhelming feelings. It is the lack of control that we loss sanity and humanity.
