Chapter 2 ~ Angels Eyes

LOUIE'S POV

Bakit naman parang ang bilis ng karma ko? I was just fooling at Kelly and now fate is fooling me.

*flashback*

"Careful Lady!"

Two words and my breathing stops...

Nanigas ako sa kinatatayuan ko ng marinig ko ang boses na yon. Hindi ako maaring magkamali. Seven years of moving on... I thought so, but then...
RUI MIGUEL ORTEGA happened and he is again in front of me.

I slowly face the owner of the voice and there he is, standing as handsome as ever in his three piece suit. I saw a second of recognition in his ocean blue eyes. Napasinghap ako, his eyes was still the most beautiful pair of eyes I have ever seen until that fateful day 6 years ago.

He clenched his jaw then his eyes became as cold as ice, biglang nag light ang mga kulay nito. He closed his eyes for a moment then breathed hard as if it was his last. When he opened it, his gaze went to the other side and saw Kelly who was stunned.

"Tss..." he said then he walk pass through me.

Nilagpasan nya ako na para bang hindi niya ako kilala at pumunta sa mga naka display na cake. Then I felt a hand touched my arm.

It was Kelly.

She looked at me as if telling me to get hold of myself then followed by an unexplainable anger, and I know why she feels that way, because she was with me with those seven years of struggling.

* end of flashback *

Hindi ko alam kung pano ako nakauwi ng matiwasay at paano siya nakaalis sa cake shop ko. Ang alam ko lang ay hinatak ako ni Kelly papunta sa kotse nya at biglang nasa tapat na ako ng pinto ng bahay ko ngayon. Para bang naglakbay ang diwa ko sa hindi ko malamang lugar.

" Hoy bruha gigising ka na ba dyan sa daydreaming mong di ko alam kung sang lupalop o papasok ka na sa bahay mo nang makabalik na ako sa ospital at may ceasarean pa ako." untag ni Kelly na nakapagpagising sa akin. Hindi ko siya pinansin at akmang pipihitin ko na ang doorknob ng hatakin nya ako at yakapin.

That very moment I let myself cry. I cried like a baby on Kelly's arms. Parang lahat ng alalala bumalik, lahat ng sakit naging sariwa ulit.

" K-ke-lly" pahikbi kong tawag sa kanya. She patted my back as if that gesture would make me feel better but she knows it can never take the pain away.

" Shhh...akala ko ba ubos na yang luhang yan seven years ago? " I thought so too. But its not. Napabuntong hininga si Kelly.

" Tama na Louie, he is not worth it."

I tried to stop crying. I have to stop. Kailangan kong makita ang source of energy ko, he can't see me like I cried like a baby, she can't feel my swollen eyes. THEY simply can't.

" Gusto mo bang isama muna kita sa ospital para ma distract ka? You can assist me inside the OR if you like. " suminghot ako at kumalas sa yakap nya saka umiling ng paulit- ulit. Mas magiging ok ako kung papasok ako ng bahay. I want to see my angels. I know they can take this pain away. Pinunasan ko ang mga naglandas na luha sa mga mata ko. Ngumiti ako ng pilit sa kanya at nakakaunawang tumango na lang si Kelly.

" Alright. As much as i want to go inside with you, I can't. If I'll go, I'll be trap till I don't know how long." Umirap si Kelly. I gave her the most genuine smile I can give that very moment.

" I'll call you as soon as the operation is finished." hinalikan nya ako sa pisngi at ngumiti. Siya na rin ang nag bukas ng pinto para sa akin. She bid farewell as I enter the house.

Naabutan ko silang naglalaro sa living room, then a pair of chocolate brown eyes met mine.

" Love! " sigaw ng may kulay tsokolateng mata at dahil doon lumingon naman sa akin ang isang pares ng bughaw na mata sabay ngiti na parang nakakita siya ng isang napakagandang bagay.

I tried to suppress my tears. They can't see me like this.

I tried to smile then I heard her voice. " Mhie?"

" Hi babies!" masiglang bati ko at pinilit kong huwag pumiyok.
