I was sitting in a Café with Ciara, catching up on the last few weeks, when my phone suddenly pinged and a message popped up. Not a direct message, more like an email. So I was being confused at first, the name Reez Florence not ringing a bell for me. But Ciara being as curious as I was, we opened the email anyway.

Dear Mrs Holland, Y/L/N.

My name is Reez Florence and I am a director for films, series, short films and commercials. We are currently looking for an actress for a new upcoming movie project which is of course paid, and thought of you.
Your short appearance in the film "cherry" has already impressed us and we would be happy to hear from you for further information and interest.

~Reez

"Oh my god..." We both gasped, starring at one another. I had received tons of fake emails like this before, but for the first time this email seemed genuine. The sender didn't have any strange numbers in the address, the links leading to his profile also seemed quite legitimate, and after googling his name to make sure, we could say with great certainty that this email was real.
"This is- crazy!" I exclaimed, grabbing Ciara's hands to squeal once again.
"I know! But what do you think? Would you want to act in a film again?" The question made me think a little, or at least it should have, but before I got the chance to think, my mouth had already answered. "Are you insane? Of course!" I've been thinking about acting in another film for quite a while now. I had even started to look into it again, but then came the planning of the wedding, and then the wedding, and everything just seemed to postpone until I had to put the acting thoughts aside completely. But now that the stress was gone, it would be my chance to start again. And I'm sure Tom would support me since he knows best what the passion for acting feels like.

Ciara on the other side was behaving strangely, suddenly very quiet and looking at me with pity.
"What's up?"
"Nothing just-" She shook her head. "Nevermind. Let's see where this email leads us!" And so we answered the email together.

As I lay in bed at night, Parker already asleep, I used my free minute to call Tom.
"Hello beautiful." He replied, his smile wide across the screen. It seemed like he was outside, in a bar by the water or something. There was wild laughter around him, only men as far as I could hear.
"Hey big boy." I smiled "Am I interrupting?" He looked up above the screen for a moment, took in his surroundings and then shook his head.
"No, never. I'm just still outside with- brat." The men's laughing sounded again, not because of what Tom had said, but someone else. Still, I wondered who else was being with him.
"Just brat? who are the others? show me." He swallowed, turned the camera so I could see the table they were sitting at.
"Just- just some friends of mine." All I was able to make out was a blur of men sitting at a table, two of them in conversation, the other one writing on the phone.
"Don't you want to introduce them to me, baby?" he nodded again, a little unsettled, and turned his phone around to show me the guys.
"Okay so- this-" He pointed to a man with black hair styled backwards, wearing a suit on his body. In his hand a glass of scotch, wristwatch on his wrist shinier than anything I owned. But once he saw that Tom had his camera on him, he smiled and waved at the lens. "That's Jack. Aannnddd-" He moved his camera to the next person, showing me a slightly corpulent young man with dark blond hair. Unlike Jack, he was wearing a beige Carharrt jacket and holding a large beer glass. "That's Ethan." Listening to his name, Ethan looked up at Tom with his blue eyes barely visible in the dark night, thinking that Tom had spoken to him.
"Mhm?" he hummed.
"Nothing mate, I'm just introducing you to my wife." Ethan smiled, waving at me as well.
"Hey Y/N." He said. My name sounding so casually coming from his lips, I wondered how he knew. I said hi back but the screen was still turned to Tom so I doubted he heard me. Then we were already at the third person, this time a slim man but with short grey hair. He also wore glasses but from the chic style he had, I suspected he was only wearing them for fashion.
"That's Eric." Eric didn't notice Tom filming him, so Tom flipped the camera back on himself, grinning down at me.
"So where is Brat?" I asked, still wondering where the man was that Tom visited in the first place.
"Oh, he just went to the toilet a minute ago. Which reminds me, I have to use the bathroom too. Do you mind waiting?"
"No, sure, go ahead." He blew me a kiss and shortly afterwards his mobile phone was on the table with the screen facing the starry sky.

I was playing with my fingers, not knowing what to do apart from listen to the conversation that was going on.
"Hold up, has Tom seriously left his phone here?" Ethan asked.
"For real? you gotta take it!" Eric answered and soon two blue eyes were starring down at me.
"And hello there again!"
"Hey Ethan." He was still smiling, happy to see more of Tom's family.
"Is that Y/N? can I talk to her for a moment?" Ethan immediately handed the phone to Jack, who had asked.
"Hey Y/N."
"Hey" I smiled nervously, wondering why Tom was hanging out with his agent in Liverpool.
"Look, Tom has almost fainted twice today and even though he said everything was fine, I wanted to ask if this happens regularly or if we seriously need to worry?" We? What did he mean? we? It's basically just me. Still, I was more concerned about Tom.
"Oh god..." I rubbed my forehead, trying not to get a headache. "Has he eaten anything in the last hours or days?" I asked.
"Not that I know of, but we often offered him something."
"But he declined?"
"I mean- yeah." Jack nodded, slowly beginning to understand what it might be about.
"Okay, then do me a favour and make sure he eats. If he says he's not hungry, try to get him to eat anyway." At this point I was seriously worried. If Tom continued not to eat, we would soon have to go to hospital and that was the last thing I wanted for him. Visiting it was already too much for him, but admitting him would kill even his last nerve.
"O-kay...." He replied hesitantly and nervously, blaming himself for not noticing Tom's disorder before. But before he could speak any further, I saw Tom standing behind him, his head cocked to one side, looking down at Jack holding his phone.
"Gonna keep flirting with my wife or can I have her back now?" he asked, sarcasm clear in his voice. Jack looked up, didn't hesitate for a second, as he handed the phone back to him with a sigh.
"Thanks." my husband grumbled and snatched the phone away from Jack's hand before sitting back down across from him again. "I'm sorry princess, I think I should hang up now, speak to you tomorrow?" he asked, ran his hand through his short hair.
And I nodded, replying with- "Of course, have fun. I love you."
"Love you too Y/N." He smiled and sweetly waved his hand at me before I was brought back to the chat.

I decided to write a message after all, but it was harder than I thought. I started off with- There is some news I wanted to tell you. But then I deleted that part again after thinking about it for a long time. I wanted it to be a surprise if the role became serious. And so far Reez hadn't answered. So I didn't want to tell Tom any fake news. I just texted him a simple Good night:) And as I wanted to add I miss you, he left me on read. Certainly not extra, but that alone made my heart long for his love. If we ever found ourselves in a long-distance relationship, I was sure I would be the first to break down. Couldn't last longer than a week. But for today I closed my eyes and tried to get the sleep I needed until Parker woke up.

~I just wanted to ask what you guys think. I've been trying to post a lot lately but I feel like no one is really interested anymore. So if you're still following this story, feel free to post it in the comments so I know my work isn't in vain.~
