Y/N's pov~

Do you know that feeling of inhaling the first scent of spring and forgetting every worry in your mind? That's exactly how it felt as we were heading home, with the window rolled down. The rush of air tousled my hair, and the scent of damp grass overwhelmed my nostrils. It was like a symphony of renewal, each breath rejuvenating my spirit. It was as though nature itself was orchestrating a magnificent overture to a promising season. The anticipation of what lay ahead seemed to dance in the air, making every passing moment exhilarating. Birds chirped, trees began to bloom and there were only a few clouds in the sky, none of them resembling a threat. I could hardly contain my excitement for the week ahead.

"Sorry for my little outburst this morning," Tom apologized after five minutes of silent driving. He must have thought it bothered me, but it didn't. Not really. On the contrary, I thought he had actually remained quite calm, considering how he could be otherwise.

My eyes fluttered open, glancing over at him. His palms were sweaty on the steering wheel, jaw clenched, muscles taut. He was dealing more with himself than I did. I could tell. If Tom reacted the way he did, there had to be a reason. After all, it appeared to be a clear 3 versus 1 situation, and if I had to take a side, I'd definitely be on Tom's.

"You had your reasons," I replied, then turned back to the window with a soft smile playing on my lips.

He didn't say anything else afterward, but I could still feel the touch of his gaze in my hair, his fingertips delicately tracing small patterns on my palm before intertwining our hands.

I woke up in the afternoon from a nap, feeling gentle kisses on my cheek. After the long journey, I just needed some rest, and now the sun was already setting, casting a soft glow into the living room that made my eyes open up.

Another kiss on my jawline, and my hands also stirred awake. I gently placed them on Tom's nape as he hovered over me, securing himself with one hand on the couch's armrest. His knee was nestled between mine, bearing his full weight.

A wide smile spread across my lips, causing my ears to perk up, as I turned my face in his direction to capture his kisses.

He still felt the same as always. His tongue delicate, gliding over mine, his stubble beard freshly shaved and soft lips eating me up like a starving man.

Pulling away, resting his forehead against mine, he smiled. "You're back," he whispered.
"I'm back," I confirmed. "And so are you!" And he nodded, neither of us able to be happier in that moment.
He traced his thumb along my cheek, studying the details of my face as if checking to see if I still looked the same as before. I did. Maybe I had a few new clothes, but I still looked the same as before.

"Would you fancy going out for a bit?" he murmured, his irises darting back and forth.
"What's on your mind?" I inquired, and he shrugged.
"Maybe catch a movie with Parker, and then we could grab a bite. What do you think?" A movie didn't sound too bad, even though it wasn't exactly early. Parker was on Easter break anyway, and he had his Easter performance the following weekend. As long as he got enough sleep, it was fine by me. Plus, he'd be thrilled to do something at night.
"Sounds good, my Prince Charming." I chuckled, pulling him down to steal yet another kiss.

~

The movie was like any other children's film, not particularly exciting for Tom and me, but Parker had so much fun he couldn't stop giggling. As for dinner, well, it had been a while since we'd seen him, and so Parker got to choose. And what does a 4-year-old love more than noodles with ketchup? That's right, Burgers and fries. So, it ended up being McDonald's instead of a fancy restaurant, as Tom would have preferred. But he was okay with it, and so was I.

All I cared about was having a good time, and that's exactly what I had when I was out with my two favorite boys. I held Tom's hand and led him along the riverbank. The water was calm, not a single gust of wind, and Parker hopped from stone to stone on our way back to the car. The stars shimmered above us, almost as if they were celebrating our reunion, and we felt it. Each twinkle seemed to whisper a memory of its own, painting a vivid tale against the canvas of the night sky.
It was one of my favourite nights, and not just because of the film, or the food, but because of what happened afterwards.

~Just a small cheeky chapter. Next one will be spicy and comes later tonight.~
