Y/N's pov~

Wayne's birthday was one of the biggest events of the entire year. Bigger than Christmas and New Year's Eve combined. Easter couldn't even compete.
Early in the morning, he had three giant cakes delivered to the set, showed up with printed T-shirts that read "Stay calm and drink. It's Wayne Day!" and forced the staff to put them on. Even on the back, he had his face printed, and Clark and I had to walk around in those dreadful things all morning.
It was clear to Reez a week in advance that we wouldn't get much filming done after Wayne made an announcement on set. So, Reez had everything planned out and had little on the agenda even for Monday, as Wayne planned to celebrate with a two-day party.
"Hey, have you seen the golden boy?" Maeve asked as she stopped beside me, and I looked at the giant billboard that only Wayne could have put up. Or his team, which he actually hired to fly a zeppelin over Los Angeles to advertise for him.

"Yehhhaaaaw!" No one else but the sunshine himself screamed as he rode in on a donkey, accompanied by two bodyguards who were broader than bouncers and wore sunglasses. The donkey was trotting along the open space of the set at a very slow pace, already getting fed up with Wayne's excitement.
All that poor thing probably wanted to do was eat and sleep. I related.
"Nevermind." She laughed, as she watched with me. In her hand, she held a simple bouquet of flowers, which she had probably bought for him, and a little further back, I found Clark helping one of the crew members carry a couch that must have been so heavy that even Clark's muscles trembled under his Wayne T-shirt. Veins ran from his arms up to his neck, and his hair was already quite tousled. I couldn't help but watch him, wondering if he had seen me yet. But as smoothly as his head turned towards me in the next moment, as if he didn't need to look around anymore to find the person he was searching for, I had no doubt that he knew I was there. He threw me a soft smile over the bouquet of flowers, and I smiled back reflexively, waving my hand uncontrollably before Maeve left to gift Wayne her bouquet, my hiding spot dropping its walls.

Clark quickly took Maeve's place and crossed his arms over his chest as he stared at the poster with me. "Quite the spectacle he's putting on," he remarked, and I could hardly imagine how tonight would unfold.

"Yeah... now that I see all the commotion he's causing here, I'm pretty sure shark cage diving isn't exciting enough. Maybe we should lock him in a cage with a shark," I joked, and Clark chuckled, nodding. "Maybe..." he agreed.

"Hey, about the party tonight, should I pick you up?" he offered, but Chad also needed to be picked up, and the detour wasn't small.

"Aren't you already picking up Chad?" I asked. He shrugged. "So what? I'll just pick you up afterwards." But we both lived quite a distance apart.

"It's okay, but thanks. I'll just ride with Maeve," I replied. She wasn't far from me, and she surely needed a ride too. We would simply order an Uber, and it would work out.

"Alright, but let me know if there's anything I can do, okay?" Even though things between us had become more tense in the past few days to weeks, Clark remained the helpful guy he had always been from the start. It made me smile, and I wondered if he treated everyone like this or if he treated me differently. Tom did at least. His family noticed it most of all, especially his brothers, who seemed to be getting less attention lately.
"I will. Thanks." I replied, smiling up at him. He was a good head taller, if not more. His chin was always the first thing I saw when I looked up, his chest the only thing I encountered in my face during a hug.

For the next few hours, we sang songs for the sun child on set, played games he set up for us, and even videos made it into his Social media story for the first time today. One of them was about how he sat in the chair, I stood behind him, hugging him while resting my chin on his hair as if he were a dog. I smiled when I noticed the camera and got so close to it until my face distorted, not knowing it would end up in Wayne's story. But it was pretty funny, I must admit, and even Clark had to laugh at the repeated story.
"It looks like you're trying to eat his camera." He pointed out, showing me the paused video at the moment where I had my mouth wide open before bursting into laughter.
