Friday.
Tom and I didn't bring up the subject again in the following week. Both of us knowing it would only end up in a fight, and both of us being afraid to waste even a thought on being away from each other. Yet we also both knew that one of us would have to soon bring up the topic, it was only a matter of time.
But we were good at putting things off and putting them off until the last minute, that was the problem... this time it couldn't wait until the last minute.Today, however, was meant to be one last meet up with all our friends. The planning was a bit chaotic though, because we were supposed to go out for dinner, but that didn't suit Harry, as he had a blood test the next morning. So I suggested roller skating, thinking it might be fun to go a few rounds with your partner, but this time Harrison and Zendaya were against it, I don't remember why. Everything that took place at lunchtime did not work because of Tom's therapy either and then, finally, I came up with bowling which was fine with everyone.
The only issue, bowling was only in the evening, well after Parker's bedtime, and Nikki and Dom were already out to dinner with friends themselves, so I had to hire a babysitter, but made sure she wasn't a young woman, as much as I trusted Tom. Period.
And with that I had made the right decision. After Tom and I had put Parker to bed, the nanny arrived on time. She was an older lady, a bit roundish, with grey curls that reached down to her chin. And her lacy British accent was what stood out the most. Definitely born and raised here.
The only job she had tonight was to make sure Parker had everything he needed if he woke up, for which she was paid £200. And in my opinion, the price was already worth it when she called Tom handsome and me beautiful, after which she hugged Tom like a mother and he looked very uncomfortable in the process. Nose scrunched up and arms not even bothering to hug her back.
"Okay, we should be back around 1 at the latest." I said and grabbed my purse.
"If there is anything, we are always available. Snacks are in the kitchen, and otherwise, make yourself at home." Of course, you have to be careful what people you say that to, especially with Tom and me, but the lady was fortunately too old to have ever heard the name Tom Holland before. She thought she was looking after a normal little boy, not the son of Spiderman.By 9 we had left the house and were sitting in the car.
The sky had long since turned gloomy, rain silently pelting the windscreen as Tom drove. The screen of my phone, however, lit up my face as I texted something with Ciara. Both of us already imagining the worst case scenario possible.Ciara:
Harry's bringing a friend btw. Hope that's fine.
9:12pm"Your brother is bringing a friend." I murmured, typing a reply.
Tom gritted his teeth, concentrating on the road.
"Okay." He said.Y/N:
Yeah sure.
9:12pmHe watched as I typed the answer, stopping at a red light in between. And when I closed my phone and put it away, he kept staring at me.
"What?" I questioned. He wasn't smiling, his lips were too straight and his eyes too dark. Then he shook his head slightly and looked back at the road as the light turned green.
"Seriously. What's up?" Something was wrong, and I didn't know if it was me or if he was just in a bad mood.
"Nothing." He grumbled, then licked his lips.I knew Tom was not a fan of events with several people, and even if it was just our friends, with whom we had even spent holidays together, it was something different than before. Because Tom had changed, no longer showing pleasure in any kind of event. I should have been happy that he came at all, instead of staying at home and drinking.
