@amyfox01: gets a little messy in heaven

Smiling at my phone, I uploaded a photograph to Instagram, locked my phone and stored it away in my clutch. It had been far too long since I was out, enjoying myself.

"Look how cute we look Ames!"

Rachel beamed as she continue to take large swigs of her martini. This had to have been her fifth cocktail of the evening.

"Cute? We look fucking hot."

I winked over at my best friend. This girl has been by my side since we were 4 years old. Since primary school. She was my ride or die, my rock, my soul mate.

Without her, I'd be lost. If truth be told, she would agree. We balance each other out; she is the ying to my yang.

"So!" Rachel slammed her head back as she drank a shot of tequila. "What is the plan of action for tonight?"

"Well, firstly....please let me catch up drinking!" I exclaimed. "I've had half as many drinks as you. You drink to fast."

Rachel scoffed as she signalled another waiter to order another round of drinks. One thing this girl knew how to do was drink.

I giggled at her anger towards the bar staff, far to impatient as she wanted to continue drinking. I looked over the balcony of where we were sat. It was late evening here in Sydney, around 11:30pm.

The city was glistening and the lights from buildings and cars lit up the night. I loved it here and for once, I had a place to call home.

Originally, both myself and Rachel were from England. From a small village in the Midlands. We decided to move to the other side of the world when we turned 18. Both of us had reasons to leave our old lives behind and start fresh. Somewhere where nobody knew who we were. Where we could rebuild ourselves to be the best versions possible.

Breaking my focus, a young waiter placed two strawberry daiquiris onto our table. Rachel's face glowed as she finally received her next drink.

"Drink up then!" She shouted, receiving some glares from customers surrounding us.

"Any need to shout?" I laughed as I took a sip of my drink. The sweet flavours filled my mouth and the harshness of the alcohol burned my throat. "Fuck, these are strong."

"Good." Rachel winked as she played with the bottom of the cocktail glass, her many rings shining in the low lights of the cocktail terrace.

"I say we finish these drinks and head to a club?" I questioned and rummaged in my clutch, pulling out a half empty packet of cigarettes and a lighter.

Placing one between my lips, the fire met the end. I inhaled slowly, savouring the smoky sensation which now took over from the alcohol.

"That's bad for you, you know?" Rachel reached over across from me and pulled the cigarette from my mouth, taking a drag herself.
