Daniel was truly in his element here in Austin. He loved everything about the culture and his new facial features even had me pleasantly surprised. I'd always thought I'd hate Daniel with his beard styled and shaped like this, but I secretly loved it.
Media day went by like a blast, with Daniel's special guest being the most memorable part of the day for anyone present.
Horsey McHorse was the greatest guest the paddock had ever seen and I heard that Matthew McConaughey was here this weekend. Secretly, I was dying inside, he'd been a massive celebrity crush of mine for years.
As I ran my hand down the mane of the horse, Daniel tied his harness up against the railings to secure the stallion in place, finishing his lap of the paddock on horseback.
"She's a beauty." Daniel commented as he patted the soft brown fur of the horses side, running his fingers over the coat.
"She's a she?" I asked Daniel as he came up next to me, smiling brightly at all the attention he had drawn this afternoon. "Who calls a female horse, Horsey McHorse?"
"Is that a boys' name?" Daniel asked whilst tilting his head, considering his options over the choice of name. "I'd never really considered it."
After parting ways with the horse, Daniel made his way over to the media questions to, no doubtably, have question after question about his obvious love for the Deep South.
I couldn't disagree with my husband. It truly was beautiful here and the accompanying weather made it all the more better. It was lovely and warm and I could finally relax in just a summer dress.
Michael let me have a key to Daniel's drivers room, to ensure I had a space to sit down whenever I needed, his Australian person trainer giving me constant reminders over the fact that I needed to take it easy.
Daniel and I had been for our fortnightly ultrasound scan since receiving the news that my placenta was low and would produce some expected vaginal bleeding. I hadn't experienced much since then, maybe a few drops after going to the toilet, but with regular check-ups, I didn't feel the need to panic. I needed to remain calm and collected to ensure my daughter was comfortable.
I wasn't as exhausted as I was previously, I had more energy than I thought I'd have at this stage in my pregnancy, but my feet and ankles were beginning to swell so on days like today, where I'd have to spend a large majority of my day on my feet, I was struggling.
After my appointment with the midwives, I was recommended to find a fully trained midwife to accompany us throughout the duration of my pregnancy, ensuring I had 24/7 around the clock support if I needed it. Daniel thought this was a good idea, but I had my doubts.
