AMY

London was rainy. Extremely rainy. The melancholy dripping through the bustling city as the pathetic fallacy lingered through the air; my emotions striking the weather to replicate exactly how I felt.

The beads of water rolled down the pains of glass as I lent my head against the window, my legs tucked up to my chest as I held myself tightly, my eyes wandering over the many people who I spotted down below.

Car after car whizzed past before stopping to a halt when the pedestrian crossing turned red, ordering the drivers to use their breaks and let the walkers cross the road.

Daniel silently entered the living room of Michael's apartment, handing me a steaming mug of tea. I smiled lightly at him towering above me, holding my hands out to accept the beverage, letting the warmth of the mug cascade around the skin of my hands.

Bringing the cup towards my face, the steam filtrated into my pours and up my nose as I smelt the familiar scent.

Daniel sat at the other end of the window ledge, reciprocating my actions before looking straight over in my direction.

"What's going on in that pretty head of yours?"

"I've called the doctor, they are waiting for you now." Max said as he ran ahead of us down the stairs as we disembarked the aircraft.

Daniel's hand remained glued onto mine as he helped me down, holding his other hand to my lower back as Michael and Rachel crowded around behind us, ensuring I was safely removed from the plane.

Max ran over towards one of the cars, opening the doors to welcome both Daniel and I into the vehicle.

As I approached the car, Max took my other hand, aiding me inside then helping me fix my seatbelt around my figure, being extremely careful of the bump which had now formed in my stomach.

"Hey," Max whispered as he looked into my eyes whilst Daniel whisked around to the other side of the vehicle, "it's going to be alright."

I smiled at him lightly before bringing my hand up towards my face to wipe any remaining tears which had now started to dry around my eyelids.

After crying for an hour solid on the way home, I now felt completely empty inside. The whirring feeling inside me that something was wrong with my baby hung on every emotion I tried to feel.

"I'll take your stuff to Michael's." Max said as he looked over at Daniel, briefly having a brotherly handshake before shutting the doors of the vehicle.

Without notice, the driver sped off as I watched our friends become smaller and smaller, evaporating into the distance as we drove away.

Daniel placed his hand into mine as he linked our fingers together. I looked down at our joined hands before shutting my eyes to have a brief moment of silence.

"I'm so sorry." I whispered underneath my breath, keeping my eyes firmly shut.

Daniel didn't mutter a word the whole journey to the private hospital, but his leg wobbled in anticipation, cautiously looking over the drivers shoulder to take glances at his speedometer, his mind surely judging how slowly he was driving to our destination. I could almost hear his thoughts suggesting that he could've gotten us there much faster.
