AMY

Groggily, I opened my eyes and placed my hand over my face as my head felt like it had been smashed into bits. My mouth was dryer than the Sahara desert as I coughed, choking for some water.

My clothes from last night were still hung over my body as I prized myself up on my elbows, looking around the room to see Rachel passed out on the bed next to me, small snores erupting from her mouth.

I picked up my phone from the bedside table to take a look at the evidence on my device.

Danny Ric🦘🤍
Hope your head isn't too bad this morning. See you on the track x

I smiled at his message, the familiarity of receiving messages from Daniel comforting me greatly.

ME
My head hurts!🤯 be there shortly, the noise of the garage might finish me off though 😭

"Rach, are you coming to the garage?" I shook my friend as she let out an almighty groan before telling me to 'fuck off'.

I guess I'll be going by myself.

As I approached the paddock, I scanned my pass and waltzed in as if I'd never left. It was extremely weird to be back at the track, the eyes of media and photographers now faced me as I smiled and waved, making my way to McLaren.

"Hey lovely." I smiled as I sat on the stool next to Michael in the garage. He gave me a weak smile as he took his earphones off. "You look rough."

"Charming." Michael commented as he wiped his eyes, the dark circles evident on his face.

"How's he doing?" I asked as I looked up at the monitors.

"He's doing pretty well." Michael smirked and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. "It's nice to have you back."

"I've only missed two races." I giggled as his arm shook me from side to side.

"Two, too many." He smiled as we began to chat, laughing and reminiscing about last night's funny stories in the club.

As we filtered into the club, Michael and Rachel headed straight for the dance floor, inevitably so, as they were both now extremely drunk.

Rachel could never dance and this was only highlighted when she was drunk. Arms flailing in the air with random motions in her hips.

Daniel and I rested upon the bar and issued the bartender with our drinks order. Only two this time as the other two had clearly had enough to last them the night.

"Rachel sure can't dance." Daniel laughed as he watched over. Rachel caught glimpse of this and waved at him, causing Daniel to chuckle even more. "She sure is special."

"You can say that again." I smirked as I was handed my mojito. Daniel took a swig of his beer and placed it upon the bar as he rested his body weight on his left arm, turning around to face me.

"I've missed you, Ames. I've missed this." Daniel smiled as I turned to face him. Placing a hand on his shoulder, I smiled back.

"I've missed you too." I whispered before bringing him in for another cuddle. He quickly rubbed my back and kissed my forehead which nearly resulting in me melting into a puddle on the floor.
