AMY
"Amy, what the fuck are you doing?" Daniel rushed over to me, Michael following closely behind as they approached me. Scotty still had his hands pressed firmly on my shoulders, his fingers reaching towards my collarbones as he controlled my position.
My dad and Rich stayed in their places, gawking at the man sprawled out on the concrete as they instantly recognised him. My dad's eyes made contact with mine as he started to laugh hysterically.
Daniel looked around confused at why my dad was laughing at the fact that I had just knocked a man out stone cold.
"That's my fucking girl!" Dad cheered and approached me, wrapping me up in a hug whilst Rich bent down over Jason's body and checked his pulse. A tad dramatic if you ask me.
I squeezed back onto my dad, not ever wanting him to leave, the adrenaline leaving my body slightly as my anxiety started to race.
"You alright?" Dad asked as he felt my rapid heartbeat against his chest.
"Have you got a cigarette?" I choked out against his grips as he chuckled softly before reaching into his back pocket to pull out the packet, softly placing one between my lips and lighting the end for me.
I inhaled as it set on fire, smoke now coursing through my lungs, relaxing me somewhat as the nicotine replaced my anxious feelings.
Rich picked up his phone to make a call. "Hey, can I have the police, please? And maybe an ambulance."
"Ame, what's gotten into you?" Daniel asked again, still confused at the display in front of him. With my tear stained face, I turned around to face the perplexed Australian.
"Meet Jason." I said and placed the cigarette back in my mouth, making the most out of this one, continually taking drags from it. My dad followed my motion and lit a cigarette for himself, laughing at my complacency towards Daniel.
"He's out cold." Michael muttered as he kicked his arm slightly to see him unresponsive. "Where'd you learn to punch like that?"
As soon as my dad found out about mine and Jason's relationship and how this came to an end, he flew straight to Sydney to be with me for a few days, forgetting he has a job and a life outside of being a dad.
He took this time to teach me basic self defence, useful knowledge I could in fact use in case I ever found myself in a predicament again. I never thought the day would come where I needed to use it in a real life situation.
"Did he hurt you? Are you okay?" Daniel panicked and grabbed my arm, shaking me slightly to get my attention.
I flicked the cigarette onto the ground, hoping to aim it directly for Jason's face so it would leave a burn mark, but it landed just north of his head, audibly sizzling when it collided with the damp ground, extinguishing the hot end.
"I'm fine." I muttered, not realising the tears were already spilling down my face. Daniel placed his hand on the side of my head and turned me into his chest, where I could wrap my arms around his back and sob uncontrollably. His hand weaved magic through my hair to calm my nerves and settle the cries which escaped.
"It's okay, baby. It's okay." Daniel whispered and planted small kisses onto my head. I felt my dad crouch down next to me, cigarette placed between his lips as he took a drag and whipped it out of his mouth.
"Everything's okay, sweetheart. We are here." My dad said and stood back up, slapping Daniel's shoulder lightly before thanking him for holding me.
"Michael." I looked out from Daniel's chest and over to his Australian counterpart who crouched down next to Jason's figure. He looked up and smiled. "Call Rachel or Paul. Make sure that they're okay."
