Miranda POV

"Okay, tonight night sounds great. Thank you Kyle." I hung up my house phone and walked toward my barstools.

I looked at my phone and scrolled through my Instagram. I had like 5,000 notifications! I locked my phone and wondered what Lacey was up to.

Sighing, I got out the pots and pans and cooking ingredients. I wanted to adopt Lacey, but didn't know what Blake would think.... I mixed all the ingredients for my cornbread and put it into the oven.

When I was finally done, I smiled at the small feast I had in front of me. I hadn't seen Lacey in a little while and began to feel worried. Before I could go and look for her, I heard footsteps on the stairs. Lacey came in, holding a notebook. I should have known. She had asked me earlier if I had an extra, so I gave one to her. "What's up Lacey Loo? How's it going?" I asked with a smile.

"It's going okay. It's so hard writing left handed! I hate it." She sounded almost defeated! Before I could say anything, she looked at all the food. "What are you doing, feeding an army?"

"Something like that." I smirked. She just looked at me confused, "More music friends?" She asked. "Yeah. It's a surprise." I lied. After all, I was a White Liar.

"Okay." She shrugged, turning to walk out of the kitchen. "Hey, wait. I've got a question for you." I said. Lacey turned back around, surprised. "Yeah?"

"Sit down." I said, gesturing to the barstool. She gave me a quizzical look and sat down. "Did I do something wrong?" She asked. "No! No. You didn't." I reassured her, sitting in the barstool on the other side of her.

"What would you..." I was about to finish my sentence when the doorbell rang. What would you think if I applied for you to be my daughter....

"We'll talk later. Don't worry, okay?" I reassured her. She nodded at me and didn't say anything else. "Open the door." I said, smiling. "Okay...?" She asked me, clearly confused.

I heard the squeak of the front door and smiled when Lacey cheered.
