Lacey POV

I went into the room, flicked on the lights, and discovered that they had already brought Miranda in. She looked like she was sleeping peacefully so I sat down on one of the chairs.

"We had to put her into a medically induced coma. She should wake up soon enough." I heard someone say. A doctor walked in, carrying a clipboard.

"Okay." I said. "Could I get the others in the waiting room?" I asked. "Already on it." He grinned at me. "So what's your name?" He asked. "My name is Lacey." I smiled slightly.

I heard the door bang open as Blake ran in. I jumped aside as he looked down at Miranda. He didn't say anything but turned to me.

"This was your fault!" I jumped, completely shocked at his accusation. "What!?" I asked. "If she hadn't of helped you that day." He growled at me. "I didn't ask her to help me. I offered to pay for the tour. She wouldn't let me. I didn't want for any of this to happen." I said, fighting to keep my voice even.

"Still...And that she..""Blake, stop." Neil said, walking in behind Blake. "It's not like I asked for this." I whispered, crumbling into the chair. I didn't move for a long while.

"Lacey?" Someone asked me. I jarred awake and looked around. Kimberly was sitting in a chair next to me, her foot propped up. How long had I been asleep?

I didn't move. "Well, I'll bring you back some chicken nuggets anyway, in case you're hungry." She rubbed my shoulder.

I remember the fight with Blake and shuttered. "Miranda. I really am sorry for causing all of this. I really didn't mean to. It seems like me trying to protect you only made things worse. This is all my fault." I broke into sobs, rubbing my scarred wrist.

I continued, grabbing her hand.
"I want you to be my mother. You always have been, ever since I first met you. You're my true friend. I just feel awful for everything. And when you jumped in front of me...I knew you really did love me like your own kid. Please wake up. Your daughter is waiting for you. If you're willing to adopt her; I don't know if you want to because she's crazy." I laughed at the last part. Miranda squeezed my hand!
