Saving Lace-y

Reid POV

"She did say if she wasn't back in 30 minutes to an hour to call this guy. But she said not to call the police. This is really odd." I told Neil, who was pacing back and forth, looking out the front windows.

"Let's call him, I guess." He shrugged, glancing at his phone. I unwaded the piece of paper in my hand and took out my phone.

"Benson home. This is Kyle?" I heard a guy ask. I looked at the name at the top of the note. "Hey, this is kind of odd, but can you meet me at Miranda's house?" I asked, hoping that wouldn't confuse things.

"Uh..sure?" He said, hanging up the phone. Well...that was easy enough....

"What did he say?" Neil asked. "He said sure." I shrugged. Neil gave me a weird look and I just shrugged.

We waited impatiently, me tapping my boot on the ground, and Neil trying to focus on his phone.

We heard a banging on the door and I jumped off the couch. We both scrambled to the door and I opened it.

"Are you cheating on....Wait..where is she?" It was a guy taller than me with brown hair and neon green eyes, stubble on his face.

"That's what we need help with. You see, she's not here...." Neil trailed off guiltily. "Who are you guys?" He asked. "I'm Reid and that's Neil." I said, introducing us.

"Perry...?" The guy asked. "Yes. And you're Kyle?" I asked. "Yeah. So what the hell is going on?"

"Well, Lacey, Miranda, and our sister have gone missing. We can't go to the police because they begged us not to. So they said to call you." I said, hoping he could make sense out of anything I was saying.

"So....where are they?" "We wouldn't be sitting here if we knew, genius." Neil snapped. "They were kidnapped." I butted in.

"What!?" He asked, panicked. "We need your help to find them." Neil said. "Okay, where were they last seen?" He asked. "Here, at the house. Miranda got a text and left. KP followed her without Miranda knowing." Neil said, going back to sit in the chair.

"Wait! We have find my iPhone!" Neil said excitedly. Kyle just looked confused; he went and sat on the couch, looking at Neil's phone.

"Found it!" Neil said excitedly. "Wait, really?" I asked, rushing over. Neil showed the screen to me and I focused on the location. "It looks like it's on the side of a highway in the middle of a forest; are you sure that's right?" I asked.

"We can at least try." Kyle shrugged. "Okay, let's go." I grabbed my keys off the counter and we headed toward my red Jeep. We all buckled up and I roared off, Neil yelling directions to me occasionally.

When we reached the spot; I searched the area. It was exactly what I said, a random forest area next to a highway. The area could be seen from the highway. They wouldn't put them out in the open for everyone to see....would they?

"Guys, I think we need to look for a building." I said, walking forward. I spotted something shiny in the grass and groaned with dread.

Three phones were smashed and thrown on the ground. "Well...there's that." Kyle snarled. "We need to search the surrounding area. Let's get back in my Jeep in case we meet the kidnappers." I said, running back over to my car.

I unlocked the doors and we all piled inside. I sped off away from the highway and deeper off-road, into the woods. We drove for a while and didn't find anything.

Finally, I spotted a small dirt road and pulled onto it. I followed it for a while until I saw lights, rapidly approaching us! A Mercedes sped toward us and past us at a high speed. "That looked like Lacey!" Kyle yelled next to me. "How did they get a Mercedes!?" I asked, surprised. "Never mind that! Just drive!" Kyle yelled.

I decided to try and follow them, speeding off. It was going to be pretty hard to keep up, with the center of gravity on my Jeep, I could easily flip it.

I followed them all over the forest and the dirt road, occasionally leading away from the highway. I had almost caught up to the people when I heard a car behind us!

I heard gunshots and yelled, "Duck!" "Duck goose?" Neil laughed before lunging forward. Kyle laughed at him, but also ducked. .

I chased the Mercedes but ended up losing it somewhere! I just hoped that the girls were actually somewhere in these cars, so this chase wasn't useless!

We launched onto the highway and I saw the Mercedes up ahead. I sped up and went 70, dodging in and out of cars.

The car chasing us sped past and chased the other car. "Great." I groaned. I saw them exit up ahead and chased them through the exit to a series of streets.

I chased the black suburban through the streets and down an alley. I heard more gunfire and sped up.

We sped in and out of alley ways and streets. "I feel like this is a freaking Tom Cruise movie!" Kyle complained. Up ahead I saw the Mercedes stopped sideways.

It was now coming back at us! Miranda was shooting out the window. "Hey! Stop!" I yelled out my window.

Miranda looked at me briefly before they turned around. "Lacey is driving!" Kyle yelled, astounded.

"Go go go!" Neil yelled at me. I quickly turned around and followed them. I heard a hiss as the tires of the black SUV were shot out.

"Sweet!" Neil cheered. I followed Miranda and Lacey's car down into an alley. They stopped and got out. Miranda looked panicked.
