Chapter 34: Dance with the Dead

Jade stepped forwards as he entered the subway train. The moment he stepped foot into the train, the doors slammed shut behind him. He looked over his shoulders at the shut doors and saw the train's real color. The scientist watched in horror as green ghostly colors spread across the train carriage.

Jade turned uneasily as he looked at Gus, "Alright little boy, that's weird and cool but you have to give the shard piece now." Jade said quietly. He attempted to grab the shard piece, but Gus withdrew his hand, "Come on then. What's the holdup?" The boy taunted.

Jade clenched his fist, "May I have the shard?" Gus laughed, "Come get it!"

Jade frowned, "So this is how it's gonna be huh?" Without hesitation, Jade growled before attempting to chop Gus on the shoulder. Gus dodges, prompting Jade to attack more. "Why are all you children so swift?"

Gus dodges quickly as Jade attacked with jabs and chops. At some point though, Jade attempts to grab Gus, of course he dodges it. However, Jade swiped his hand towards Gus immediately after, hitting the boy in the face.

Gus staggered backwards as the sound of shattering glass(Gus Super) was heard. He felt his face and panted, "You landed a hit on me! Well, I've got more tricks up my sleeves!"

Gus knocked on a train seat beside him. Jade raised his eyebrow, "What are you doing?"

Suddenly, a bunch of ghosts rose from the surface of the train and from below the seats.

Jade stepped backwards but a tall ghost robot grabbed his shoulder from behind. Gus leaned on the train doors as he drank from a can drink he took out from his pocket,

"Welcome to the Train to Nowhere!"

The tall robot flung Jade backwards, causing him to roll and crash into a hand pole. The train started moving, Gus laughed as he patted his balloon dog in the head, "I'd give you the shard! If you beat my friends. Have fun my Ghost friends!"

...

Jade recovered as he summoned duo swords, "No more games."

Jade started fighting the hoards of ghosts. He first sliced a small mouse bot, but it got back up. Jade was punched but he stabbed one of the ghosts and kicked it. The mouse bot pounced on him, but he grabbed it and pushed it down.

He did an 'X' with his blade before sending a sparkling display of swords towards the ghost hoard.

The ghosts were pushed back, but they continued their onslaught. Jade took a quick breath as he parried a punch and swiped at the legs of the ghosts.

The tall bot grabbed Jade by the neck and lifted him in the air. "Weak. Hahaha." The bot mocked as it punched Jade backwards.

The scientist was sent back but stabbed the ground to stop himself from flying back.

Winded and growing tired, Jade had to find another solution. He took off his cracked glasses before seeing the tall bot bend its head to cross below some low ceilings in the train.

Jade quickly moved backwards as he saw the bots evading the metal poles in the train, "Solids...they are evading solids in the train!"

Jade looked at a pole beside him, "I have an idea..." he pulled at it, but it won't budge. Jade shook his head and regained focus. He used his dual blades to cut the top and bottom of the pole.

As he made his swords disappear, he grabbed the loose pole and held it like a spear. The bots stopped for a moment...

"Ahhaha. The human thinks that's going to sto-"

Jade knocked a bot backwards in aggression before swiping the pole down and fixed his leg with it.

He did a roundhouse kick on 3 robots before spinning backwards.

The bots and zombies seemed hesitant to move forward. Jade smiled, "Come one then! Let us dance!"

The passengers made their move and charged Jade. A jab of the pole knocked one bot back before Jade swiped and used the butt of the pole to parry a puncher bot.

He then proceeded to do a flurry of swipes, sending attackers out the windows before starting to spin the pole. He ended his combo with a slam on the front with a single hand.

A zombie stepped on the pole and pounced on Jade, but he sidestepped and forced his pole out from the grasp of the attacker.

He quickly jogged backwards, "I have to find a way to disable them..."

Jade summoned a sword and placed it on the top of the pole. He focused his energy before creating a blade staff.

"Hoho! This will be fun!"
