Jade was right outside of the tent of the mystics. Tara and Sandy looked to Gene as he chanted a spell and directed his hands towards the entrance of the tent.

"No more hiding. I found ya..." Jade murmured sinisterly. However, he suddenly heard a distant call from someone on his left ear.

He looked to his left but saw no one.

"Huh? I swear I heard-"

"Yes, I'm the one you are looking for." A voice spoke in his head.

"What? Get out of me!" Jade suddenly felt uncomfortable as he looked around.

"I'm just trying to let you understand that we are not going to attack you if you enter peacefully. Just stand down your weapons and-"

Jade ignored the voice and smiled as he violently tore past the curtain separating the two sides. He walked slowly as the five daggers surrounding him cut through parts of the tent before aiming towards the mystics.

Gene was taken aback but prepared as the daggers came flying towards them.

Tara dodged one of the daggers while Gene pushed away three more. The daggers were pushed back and disappeared upon missing their target. However, one of the daggers had reached its target.

Sandy let out a short scream as a dagger punctured his left arm. He had failed to dodge the dagger in time.

Tara gasped, "Sandy!" She quickly summoned 3 clones of herself as they attacked Jade. She rushed to Sandy as he groaned and weeped at the pain, "Thank the gods it didn't hit his heart. He'd be dead if that were the case..." Tara examined the injury and questioned Gene, "Where's the nearest hospital?"

"Jabagala-" Gene was interrupted as he shielded a blast of lasers with a shield. He extended the magical shield to shield Tara and Sandy as Jade backed away from the shield.

"Kaabalala, *sigh*" Gene casted a spell on himself, "I'll speak the English tongue for now, we need negotiations with this man."

Tara sighed, "We need your healing Gene, but I can sustain it for sometime..." She summoned a healing spirit as it threw healing at Sandy, stabilizing him a little, but not near enough to save him.

Jade banged on the shield with the stock of his gun as he yelled, "Come out and fight me! Cowards." Gene was starting to sweat, "Traveler, I seek your understanding that we have a wounded we need to attend to. Please stand your weapons down, we don't want to fight."

Jade arched his eyebrows, "You expect me to stand down, after you what...attacked me, accused me of theft, kidnapped me and stole from me?" He struck at the shield again.

Gene sighed as he retorted every time the shield was struck, "Traveler, you don't understand! We had to take precautions for aggressive outsiders like you. (Jade stabs the shield) *grunt* we had to make sure you weren't from The Corp."

Jade paused for a moment, "The corp? What's that?"

Tara nodded to Gene, "A band of crazed maniacs trying to find the power of stars and wormhole travel. We can tell you the story, but not when Sandy is hurt!"

Gene took over again, "Traveler, I know who you really are. And if you are willing, I can work with others of the resistance to help you return home. But that would require your cooperation."

Jade was about to strike again, but stopped. He rid his weapons and lowered his shotgun, "How did you know that?"

Gene used his hand to point at his lamp as he continued to hold his shield up.

Jade seemed to understand, he crossed his arms, after slinging his shotgun on his back, "So, tell me about these people that can help me."

Gene sighed, "Please, we have to help out wounded first-"

"Oh hell just shut up!" Jade cut as looked towards Sandy, "He's just bleeding! Nothing that serious. Just take it like a man!"

Tara looked shocked, not by his courage, but by his sheer selfishness, "He's just a kid! He can't take a dagger through his godforsaken arm! What are you? Some superhuman?" Tara tore her bandages off as she attempted to bandage parts of Sandy's bleeding arm.

"In a way, if you primates are that weak, sure I'm a superhuman. The children in my world can probably take a beating or something. I can't understand— what's so difficult? Just tank the shot!"

Gene continued to hold up the shield but had shuffled to sit nearer to Sandy, "The nearest respawner is also too far, we can only hope that the paramedics can arrive in time."

Jade was getting impatient, "So are you done or not? So dramatic..."

That was the last straw for Tara as she blasted Jade, "HE'S STILL A CHILD! *breathe* I can't believe someone like you actually exists! You are the most disgusting creature I have ever seen and if I could kill you now I would!" Gene calmed her down after noticing dark magic forming on her wrists, "We have to stay peaceful."

Jade, who had never been insulted that bad before, was suddenly feeling surprise and slight uneasiness as he tried to object, "I...it's just, I don't understand why you people are so wea-"

"STOP COMPARING US TO YOURSELF!" Tara shouted.

Jade, for once, actually felt at a loss, the words he heard—'disgusting', 'exist'...was he really that bad? Wasn't it right for him to be angry? Why does he feel...guilty?

The man fell silent as he observed the two mystics trying to save the injured. Gene looked towards Jade and noticed something,

"You feel something else, traveler." Gene informed as he lowered his shield.

Jade looked at Gene as a bead of cold sweat landed in his palm, "I...I guess I do."

The bummed out man suddenly didn't feel angry anymore, just pensive. A new emotion was triggered, and an arrow was pointing him in the right direction.
