Disclaimer: Violence and blood

There's no point for him to be angry anymore. For some reason, he felt his priorities shift to his reasons in his actions, like a sudden realization striking.

"Do you, traveler, by chance have something to help us in our current situation?" Gene asked warmly.

Jade put up his hand but retracted it after, "I..."
He frowned, "Why should I help you anyway? You are my enemy, and you insulted my dignity! I see no reason to help you."

Gene placed a palm on Sandy's chest as he felt his pulse, "Good news Tara, Sandy can survive. But his arm would be paralysed for a long time. As brawlers, we are more resistant to injury, but this is still quite lethal." The last sentence was directed to Jade.

Gene looked to Jade, "And to answer your question, Empathy and Compassion."

Jade felt something tingling in him as he completed his next move, "I...I have something that can help. But I need my stuff."

Tara looked at Gene wide eyed, "You can't be serious. He would take something else and just use it to kill us! Or he would just run." Tara complained.

Gene shook his head, "I believe you to do the right thing, traveler."

Jade looked aside, as if thinking.

Tara sighed reluctantly as she stood up and grabbed Jade's bag from the side of the tent and threw it at him.

He caught it with his mechanical arm and took out a canister. "Here, take this and spray it on the boy. It'll give a quick recovery."

Gene caught the canister and thanked Jade before spraying the healing on Sandy, who had fallen unconscious in the process of loosing blood. He woke up to the sense of recovery and looked at his arm as it rapidly healed.

The wound closed up and the blood on the ground started to dry. Sandy blinked as he looked at his arm, "Wow, that's...powerful. But I'm feeling quite tired...and dizzy."

Gene shook Sandy lightly, "You can't sleep now, stay awake. The one who harmed you just saved you."

Hearing the boy speak was like a weight lifting off his back. All this time, he didn't see the mystics and villagers as people, but instead areas of interest to him. Now, he saw the humanity in their eyes and hesitated to say or do anything aggressive.

Jade walked towards the mystics, "I guess I did save you, boy. You don't have to thank me though."

Sandy moved his arm, it wasn't paralysed! "I feel alright, just a little tired. Otherwise I can stay up! (Seriously though, that's quite amazing for a healing item...)" Sandy whispered the last part.

Jade still heard the compliment anyways, "I know, I enhanced the original design myself. It uses many different microtech to help in quick healing. Sometimes I wonder how many people my genius saved?"

Tara, who was still in disapproval of Jade shook her head, "I rather wonder how many you harmed? One shudders to think how many people were killed by a cold-hearted fool like you."

Jade frowned, "Hey, my generosity only goes that far. Be glad I had a change of heart."

Tara was about to argue but Gene settled her down, "We aren't here to fight. Let's discuss...The Corp. Shall we?"
