Chapter 49: My Choice

Jade pushed past three attackers before assembling the team.

"Spread out! And attack!" He pointed as the brawlers charged at the Founder.

Founder saw the brawlers and summoned stars to attack them. Buster was by Jade's side as he blocked the projectiles.

Founder summoned a big star but Shelly shot him with concentrated hits. He shifted to attack Shelly but she dashed below to the founder and blasted him with her super, out of the air.

Founder fell to the ground but got up instantly. Belle shot a mark at the Founder, and everyone shot him.

Founder dodged most of the attacks and blocked a sword from Jade with a Starr-shaped shield. Griff threw a super and disoriented Founder as the bright notes flashed in the dark day.

Jade ran towards the Founder and slashed him, but he dodged and shield bash Jade, before throwing a star blade. Jade ducked but the Founder stepped on his chest before stabbing the ground with his shield. Jade dodged his head before summoning a sword and shooting it to Founder's chest.

The founder backed away as he pulled out the sword. Jade took out his shotgun and fired, but the founder used the Shard to absorb the shots. As Jade fired, the founder drew closer.

Before Jade knew it, the Founder charged a powerful punch with the Shard and punched Jade back.

Jade was sent flying before crashing onto the ground near Buster, "His tough! Your alright?" Jade groaned and spat blood from his mouth, "Not really..."

He stood up and saw Poco with Gus, "We'll help you get there however we can."

Jade was healed by Poco and Gus as he stood up and cracked his neck.

"Follow me Buster." Jade said as he started moving forwards. Gus was about to shield him, but Jade stopped him, "I'll tell you when to shield me."

Gus agreed as he saw Jade and Buster sprint towards the Founder.

The founder saw them and charged a Starr so huge and unstable that it looked like it was going to explode.

The star came coming down but Buster turned his camera to full power and blocked all the projectiles.

Jade was unharmed but Buster seemed stressed, "I can't hold the attacks much longer!"

The shrapnel from the star was still being repelled, but Buster soon was knocked back, leaving Jade on his own.

He quickly sent a wall of swords at the founder who was trying to dodge but was still hit. He stepped backwards as he noticed Jade going for a ram.

Jade turned to Gus, "Now!" Jade was shielded as the Founder charged an attack.

The founder tried to punch Jade, but the shield soaked up all the power, leaving Jade with his unscathed momentum. The founder was tackled to the ground and Jade flipped over him.

The founder stood up and was about to charge an attack but realised the Shard's were gone.

"You-" the founder was about to say...

Jade smiled before charging his leg up and teleporting away.

Jade teleported upwards and saw the brawlers fighting, "I'm sorry. This is my choice."

He started flying away. He ducks into the forest, hoping no one sees him.

Pam gasped as she pushed past a robot and ran to Jade, chasing him, "What are you doing Jade?"

Jade looked behind him before gasping and shouting, "Don't stop me!"

He ran faster as he charged himself with the Shard.
