Chapter 59: You face me Again

Jade hovered to the level of the Founder, and had his hands ready to summon swords.

He called, "Hey! Founder, glutton of power. Can't fight without it? Come on then!"

Astro slowly turned his head, "...What?"

Hand still in the air, he seemed to ask in disbelief, "How many god damn times do I have to kill the same fracking human?"

Astro decided to stop for explanation, easing his eyebrow in sincere curiosity. Besides, what can this pathetic human who forfeited his armour do?

Jade smiled, "Well...one, never said I was "human" , two, I can just come back because I can. Guess the celestial beings are with me. And three, you keep doing crazy shit that I have to stop. So...You face me—again."

Jade pointed to the ground, and brawlers were coming out from the portals. Brawlers from other universes.

One of the portals had Gus, Fang, and Sandy, who seemed to be in the midst of a battle with Lou? A diver- looking brawler that Jade hadn't seen before. And another man that wore black and red.

In another portal, a Leon was sitting beside a Jessie and holding her hand. They both stared at the battlefield in horror.

In another, flying portal, held Tara, Max, and another Jessie, who were fighting a black and lime force. The Max nearly fell out of the portal, but the Tara grabbed her back.

And lastly, another portal held a white-haired man that looked like a human version of the arcade bot, 8-bit. Standing beside another man that wore a dark pink officer uniform, a human Ruffs.

Astro looked down and was gazing at the fascinating universes, so Jade took the opportunity to shoot multiple swords at him.

The Founder looked up before blocking and swiping the swords out of the air, with one left hand.

"So...neat trick. Distracting me and all—you gonna use the same strategies against me? I'll just kill you like how I did before, and you won't escape this time!" Astro laughed as he grabbed a flying sword out of the air.

Jade shrugged, "Maybe...this'll be the last time you face me—because you'll be dead!"

Astro, seeing his ignorance, yelled before shooting a few stars from his hand.

Jade swooped himself up with a flying sword before sending groups of swords down.

He could hear the physical clash of swords getting smacked out of the air by the Founder.

With another set of violent rattling from the blocked swords, the founder shot a beam from his hand.

Jade narrowly dodged it as he felt his very skin hairs crawling from the beam behind centimeters from his face.

As the beam followed Jade, he threw some swords, but the founder teleported about.

"You've gotta be kidding me."

Jade quickly dropped after he turned off his hover boots.

He sent another set of swords to disrupt the founder, preventing the founder from beaming him and yet again the founder blocked it.

"You are the fool Jade! You are predictable, and will not last long here!"

Jade suddenly boosted up again, and shot a constant stream of swords towards the founder, above and below.

The founder was blocking and dodging, trying to keep himself facing the circling blades sorcerer, but was still hit once or twice by a few swords. They bounced off.

Realising this, the founder seemed to scoff, "Your attacks do nothing to me! Hahaha!" He started approaching Jade, having swords bounce off his chest.

Jade felt a grin crack in his face, "That's the neat part. They do, do things. Those are BLUNT!"

He yelled the last part as he shot a few sharp swords in the mix of blunt swords towards the founder.

Three swords punctured his chest and arms and Jade landed in front of him before using a sword in his hand and slashing.

The Founder saw the incoming blade and stopped it with his arm, "Another...irritating trick...but your swords still do nothing!"

Jade slashed with another sword from his other arm, but the founder dodged out of the way.

The Founder grabbed Jade's blade and pulled him forward, but Jade let go. He summoned another blade and jabbed at the founder, hitting him in the chest.

"You can only fight with one hand, make use of it!" Jade taunted.

The founder gritted his teeth behind his mask before summoning a star blade. He took a defensive stance as the two waited for the other's movement.

Jade came in first with some stabs and jabs as the founder weaved from side to side and slashed at the incoming blade.

Jade suddenly made quick advances forward as he swiped his sword forwards with quick succession.

The usual parrying and blocking was suddenly broken when the founder pushed Jade's blade to a the side, leaving him open.

Jade let go of his sword before summoning two and blocking the founder's blade. Astro's blade stuck between the two swords, and Jade seemed to force the opponent's blade down.

Yet again, he let go of his blades and did a kick at the founder's face, knocking him back and his blade out of his hand.

Jade did a slash from the left and the founder blocked it with his left arm. He punctured the blade into the founder's hand before switching out more blades.

He did another slash at his neck but the founder dodged out of the way...and was met with another summoned sword.

Jade kept at his attack and increased his speed as he started to fake attacks, changing his sword position right before stabbing.

As the founder learnt his moves, he dodged more and Jade was missing, but the scientist changed to attack below as he swiped beneath the founder's feet. But instead he changed his direction to be above, at the founder's head.

The agility from Jade was disorienting the founder as he couldn't find which sword to counter—vertical attacks were horizontal, slashes were stabs, flying swords everywhere.

There were many lingering swords in the air that served only as distractions as the founder was stabbed more and more.

Jade then switched to attacking with an accelerated flurry of attacks using dual-wielding. Top slashes with the sound of "ra  tatatatatatatata" switched to bottom slashes then bottom and top slashes...

"bata bata batabatatatata"

*CLINK*

Astro had enough of Jade's shenanigans and grabbed his sword before pulling him. As expected, Jade let go of his blade. Unfortunately, the founder had learned his attacks and grabbed his neck, letting the second blade stab at his chest.

"I already said...you attacks do NOTHING!"  Astro shouted.

Jade smiled as he finally lost, "Killing you wasn't my main mission...hahaha-"

Astro threw Jade into the beam he shot into the air on his right hand and disintegrated him. "Enough talking."

Astro looked down as the area was starting to flood with brawlers from other universes, "...Dammit...This is getting out of hand!"

He tried to close the portals, but the shard and cell wouldn't listen to him. Instead, they zapped the air and opened more portals, and brawlers doing random activities all looked at him through the portals.

In the midst of the chaos, Astro saw the original team of brawlers, running towards the park.

"It...it was A DISTRACTION?" Astro huffed in anger before starting to teleport towards them, even if his power grew unstable.

Now it was time for the brawlers to face the founder.
