Chapter 29: Challenger

"Why'd you bring me here?" Jade asked suspiciously as Leon stopped in front of the large amount of training bots.

"Hmph. Well you see, Jade, your secret had recently been revealed to all of us huh? Am I right or am I right?" Leon questioned.

Jade crossed his arms, "Yeah...why?" Jade suddenly thought of an alarming possibility...but it wouldn't make sense...right?

What if Leon was an agent?

Jade hovered his hand over his rifle, waiting for the boy's response.

"Alright then. Heheh, it seems that I was right after all. You see, I found out about your little shenanigans about your weird tech quite some time ago." Leon explained as he scrolled his phone.

Phew.

"What? You've been snooping around my work?" Jade exclaimed in surprise as he lowered his hand, away from his rifle.

Leon smiled and showed his phone to Jade, revealing the picture he had taken, "I found out a long time ago—you were lucky I didn't spread the word~"

Jade shook his head in annoyance, "So it wasn't the wind. It was you. Don't you have better to do?" Jade stated as he rolled his eyes.

"Not really...but I have a request. For you of course." Leon appealed. "You seem strong. The previous match I lost because I wasn't giving it my all—I now challenge you to a duel! There's rewards of course..."

Jade sighed contemptuously, "Why though? I really don't see any upside to this except time wasting." Leon spun a blade, "I like challenging new brawlers! (And I like taking their candy!) See what ya got! Anyways, didn't you recently change your abilities?"

"Hmm...I suppose I am rather bored. Say...it's been a while since I...since I fought in a 1 on 1. Sure would relive the old days!"

Leon smiled, "Alriiight! Here's the rules..."

(After explaining how Duels work with one brawler)

"If you win, I'll give you a ten dollar bill. It's my savings. But if I win, you have to compliment me on Brawl News on how hard I beat you! Deal?"

"I wouldn't, but Duel's a duel. Let's fight then!"
