in which, you ask to braid wednesdays hair

you watched with a soft smile as wednesday untied her other braid. her hair puffed up, pieces sticking everywhere. she didn't allow many people to see her like this, but you had walked in on her whilst looking for enid. she was in the middle of fixing them, and she threatened to cut your fingers off if you told anyone what you saw. you agreed, only if she let you stay.

so here you were now, staring as she began to comb out her hair. when she began to braid some of the pieces together, you stopped her.

"can i do it?" she froze in her spot, looking at you with a bewildered expression.

"excuse me?"

you smiled, rephrasing your question. "can i braid your hair?"

she hesitated, before giving a stiff nod. you smiled happily, moving to sit beside her. you reached forwards, your fingertips grazing her hair. your mouth dropped open. you weren't expecting her hair to be so soft.

"go on then. i have things to do," she spoke, sighing harshly. your fingers began braiding through her hair, separating each sections. you carefully began braiding the pieces together.

wednesday couldn't help but watch you as you did this, her gaze shifting all over your face. you looked so concentrated, with your eyebrows pulled together, and your lips parted slightly. your breath was warm against her cheeks, and she felt her chest tighten.

when you finished one side, you smiled proudly, reaching down to take the hair tie from her hands. she froze from the contact, watching you with curious eyes. you carefully tied her braid, so as not to make it too tight.

you switched sides, beginning with the other braid.

wednesday paid close attention to the way your fingers moved her hair. you were being so gentle, as if she were a piece of glass. she felt herself grow goosebumps from your touch, and your hands stopped.

"are you cold?" you asked, staring down at the bumps on her arms.

wednesday clenched her jaw, glancing at you almost hesitantly. "yes."

"oh. i'm sorry. here," you leaned away, pulling your hoodie off your body. with a small smile, you handed it to wednesday.

"that's not necessary."

"i insist." you pushed, gently setting it on her lap, before turning back to her braids.

she slipped the jacket on, heat flooding throughout her body. she wasn't sure if it was from the jacket, or the way your fingers were brushing softly against her neck.

when you finished her braid, you grabbed the other hair tie from her hand. you tied it, and then stood, admiring your work. "i think it looks great. here, go in look in your mirror."

wednesday stood, walking to her closet. she opened it, reaching down for a small, handheld mirror. she stared for a moment before looking back at you.

"it's not as good as i would have done." she spoke, causing you to roll your eyes.

"clearly you're in denial. its amazing. you look beautiful." you grinned, laying down on her bed. she felt her heart clench at your words. she laid down next to you, her shoulder pressed up against yours.

"i should probably go," you spoke after a few minutes, breaking the awkward silence. you pushed yourself up, swinging your feet over the side of her bed.

she grasped your wrist, now also sitting up. "no," she clenched her jaw, staring up at you. "it's almost curfew. if you're found, you'll have detention. you might as well stay."

you smiled softly, tilting your head. "wednesday addams wants me to stay?" your words caused her to scoff, turning her head away from you.

"nevermind. you can leave."

"no, no it's okay. i'll stay." you grinned happily, earning a glare from wednesday. you laid back down, turning on your side to look at her.

she stared up at the ceiling, giving you a perfect view of her side profile. you were so close, you could see the small freckles that were scattered across her cheeks. you reached down, your fingers brushing against her own.

she interlocked your fingers. you gave her hand a gentle squeeze, causing her to turn her head towards you. you smiled softly, admiring her for a moment. she glanced down and your lips parted. she began to lean in, and with each second that passed, you felt your heart beating hard in your chest. heat rushed to your cheeks at the thought of her being able to hear it.

she connected your lips, kissing you gently. her lips were soft against yours, and when she pulled away, you found yourself leaning forwards, chasing after her.

"you're eager," she muttered, gently pushing at your chest.

you smiled, pulling away to look at her. "can you blame me?" you whispered, reaching up to cup her cheek.

she stared at you, her eyes narrowed slightly. when you leaned in again to kiss her, she felt her lips quirk up into a small smile.

the door burst open, enid rushing in whilst spitting out apologies. "y/n, im so sorry, i did-" she paused, her eyes widened.

you were now on the ground, seeing as how wednesday had pushed you off her bed. wednesday stared at enid with an angry look. "enid," she spat, her voice sending chills down your spine.

"oh. my. god." enid mumbled, a smile being slowly spread across her face. she began to back out of the room. wednesday stood, walking towards her.

enid turned, running out into the hallway, with wednesday following closely on her trail.

"enid, get back here!"
