in which, jenna tries to stay up for you

a/n: this was deadass a draft from january last year lmaoo anyways something short while i get back to writing

you carefully opened the door to your apartment, stepping into the dark entryway and closing the door behind you with the heel of your shoe. kicking your shoes off, and placing them next to the wall, you stepped through your apartment.

it was nearly three in the morning, and you had been busy with work all day, much to your dismay. jenna had finished her shoot a few hours earlier and you had texted her to let her know you were on your way home, but she never responded back so you made the assumption that she was asleep.

you were quickly proven wrong because when you turned around, jenna standing in front of you with a blanket loosely wrapped around her shoulders. "oh my god!" you gasped, holding a hand against your chest to slow the rapid beating from your heart. "holy...jenna...you scared me! warn a girl next time before you jump around corners," you complained with a deep sigh.

she smiled at your reaction, shuffling closer to you. her hands reached out from beneath the blanket, warm fingers curling around your wrists. "sorry...didn't mean to," she mumbled sheepishly, "i thought you had heard me."

"it's alright. why are you still up?" you questioned, not bothering to fight her when she tugs you into an embrace.

"i tried to sleep. just...couldn't without you. it was cold," she shuddered dramatically, arms wrapping tight around you and squeezing you . you hummed in response, nodding as you waddled the best you could into your bedroom with her clinging to you.

"well, i'm here now. let me just change first." with a kiss to her cheek, you pried her off you and left for your closet to change into pajamas.

when you entered your room again, jenna was sitting up and hugging her knees. she looked up at you and smiled tiredly, opening her arms. "c'mere," she whispered, beckoning you forwards.

you joined her on your stomach, sighing at the soft mattress, and dropped your head down onto your pillows. she watched you with an amused smile, brushing her fingers along your spine. 

"i missed you," she mumbled, leaning over to press a kiss behind your ear, the gesture causing you to shiver. "i thought about you all day," you felt her smile against your skin, and she pressed another kiss against your jaw.

you smiled cheekily, your eyes peering open to look at her. "you thought about me? like...in bed, or what?" she scoffed at your words, pushing your shoulder.

"not like that! i meant, like i missed you. i wanted to cuddle with you," she grumbled, shaking her head in faux annoyance. you smiled, pushing yourself up and climbing over top of her.

"just teasing, baby. i missed you too," you smiled, capturing her lips with yours. she hummed happily, cupping your cheek, but it only lasted a second before you were pulling away. you reached up with one hand, gently fixing her bangs, then trailing your hand down to her jaw. you brushed your thumb against her bottom lip, watching amusedly as she began to smile. "c'mon, let's go to sleep."

"finally! i've been waiting forever," she groaned, pulling you onto her. you rest your head near her neck, pressing soft kisses against her skin. she wrapped one arm around your waist, the other gently rubbing your back. "goodnight. i love you," she mumbled, her voice quiet.

you smiled up at the girl, pressing another kiss to her jaw. "i love you too. now, sleep." she nodded lazily, closing her eyes. she soon began to snore softly. you closed your eyes, relaxing your body. it didn't take long for you to fall asleep.
